Former “I’m A Celebrity” contestant GK Barry has shared insights into her experience in the 2024 season of the popular ITV show set in the Australian jungle. The 26-year-old described this season as one of the most “harmonious” ever, noting the absence of significant conflicts among the cast. She praised the camaraderie among her fellow contestants, which included Coleen Rooney, Danny Jones, Oti Mabuse, Tulisa Contostavlos, and Alan Halsall, stating, “we all got on” well.

In addition to these celebrities, the camp also featured Jane Moore, Barry McGuigan, Melvin Odoom, Dean McCullough, Maura Higgins, and Reverend ‘Rev’ Richard Coles. In an exclusive conversation with the Daily Express, Barry revealed some behind-the-scenes moments that didn’t make it to the broadcast. One of those candid stories involved Rev Coles, with whom she developed an unexpected friendship. Barry humorously remarked, “Rev would shower naked. I saw that man’s bum more times than I care to admit.”

Without access to entertainment like games, music, or books, the campmates had to find creative ways to amuse themselves. Barry explained that the lack of activities, combined with the simple diet of rice and beans, often led them to spend a lot of time sleeping.

She admitted, “We would sleep constantly; there was nothing dramatic going on, we would just be sleeping all the time.” The monotony of the environment seemed to lull the participants into extended rest periods as a way to pass the time.

Partnering with Pets at Home, Barry revealed, “I once pretended to audition for The Voice in front of Danny and Oti, and we would just chat and gossip all the time. I know so much about everyone because all we got to do was chat, so that’s all we would do and sleep.” These interactions helped the group bond and create lasting memories during their time in the jungle.

GK was among the famous faces to make a star-studded appearance at Pets At Home’s Christmas Grotto experience for pets. Alongside her adorable dogs Noodle and Sherry-Baby, the TV star opened up about her Christmas plans as a dog mum of three, in addition to Kimchi.

She shared: “Christmas is looking hectic. We’ve bought all their presents already, my parents just dropped off their advent calendars, so I think they’re going to have the best time.”

GK added that she and her football star girlfriend, Ella Rutherford, would be at home during the festive period: “We are always at home, always in bed. We’re just watching telly with the dogs at all times, and they’re loving I’m A Celeb, they don’t understand that their mum was on it once, but I have been trying to tell them.”

Pets at Home will also be delivering the unmissable walk-in experience in Liverpool ONE on November 27 and the Birmingham Bullring on December 6.
