What’s great about a reality TV show like Below Deck is its authenticity, especially when it comes to the charter guests who board these luxurious, multi-million-dollar yachts. While many of them are respectful and appreciative of the crew catering to their every need, there’s always the occasional group that turns life on board into a nightmare.
Season 12 introduced its first round of unruly guests, and things quickly spiraled. Their behavior became so disruptive that Captain Kerry Titheradge considered stepping in. Seeing how uncomfortable the interior team was, he made it clear: anyone who disrespected his crew was at risk of getting off his vessel.
Below Deck’s Captain Kerry Defends His Crew After Restless Charter Guests
Captain Kerry Had No Problem With Kicking His Guests Off The Yacht
Season 12 hasn’t featured many demanding guests, though it certainly delivered its fair share of wild ones, including a memorable charter full of adult entertainers. But in Episode 6, viewers finally got the inevitable: a group of rowdy guests who managed to truly get under the interior crew’s skin.
This particular group owned multiple strip clubs, and Chief Stew Fraser Olender had a feeling they’d be a handful from the moment he read their preference sheet, which included having a “full-blown concert” on the dock which he had to create with a budget of $20,000. He wasn’t wrong. Even before setting foot aboard the St. David, the guests were already making demands, asking where their welcome drinks were before they even boarded.
“Obnoxious, rude, classless,” Fraser shared in a confessional, adding, “this trip is going to be hell if that’s what we go on board.”
However, as the drinks kept flowing, the guests grew increasingly demanding and began showing an attitude towards the interior crew. They mocked Fraser, and during lunch, one guest even went so far as to berate how Chef Anthony Iracane cooked the meal. Fraser let Captain Kerry know that this group of guests were going to be “really, really rude,” with the Captain sharing, “I’ll take care of that.”
Captain Kerry decided to pull his interior team aside having witnessed the guests demanding actions and ruthless behavior.
“If at any point you feel uncomfortable, let me know. Demand we can do, rude and demeaning we can’t do,” he tells his crew. “I have no worries getting a water taxi and deporting some people if I have to,” he added.

Things only got worse during dinner, with stewardess Rainbeau bearing the brunt of the guests’ behavior. At one point, a guest named Dawn demanded that if another person received a drink, Rainbeau should get her one too. The same guest later told her she was on her “s*** list” and made her take back a drink to replace it with another. Despite the disrespect, Rainbeau handled the situation with professionalism, with Fraser jokingly drawing devil’s horns on her preference sheet.
Meanwhile, Fraser was tasked with an all-out concert for the guests the following day, and so far, it’s shaping up to be anything but smooth sailing. Fans can tune in to what happens in the following episode.
Below Deck Has Seen Its Fair Share Of Difficult Guests
Below Deck Season 1 Kicked Off Charter Guests For Suspected Drugs On Board
Below Deck and its many spinoffs have seen their fair share of rowdy, rude, and downright disrespectful guests. But longtime fans will remember that one of the worst offenders appeared all the way back in Season 1, when Captain Lee Rosbach was the helm of the Honor.
In one of the most shocking moments of the series, stewardess Kat Held confronts chief stew Adrienne Gang, that she suspects there are drugs in one of the guests’ rooms. “Last night, when I was doing turndowns,” she begins, before whispering, “And, one of the guests had cocaine in their room. I wasn’t sure if I should say anything or not.”
Adrienne then shares the news with Captain Lee, who is known for his no-nonsense attitude. “There is no option,” Lee tells her. “The charter is over.”
Captain Lee turns the boat back to the dock and informs the guests that they are well aware of the zero-tolerance policy of no drugs aboard the yacht. The guests looked completely stunned as they packed their things up and were escorted off the vessel.
While drugs will certainly get a guest kicked off a yacht, so does unruly and disrespectful behavior. On Season 8 of Below Deck, Captain Lee had to step in when a very drunk guest decided to jump into the ocean for a swim late at night. Before she jumped into the waters, Captain Lee warned her that it was a bad idea.
In a confessional, Lee shares his frustrations about the guest. “She’s very drunk, it’s night time, she’s crossing the line. I am pissed. I’m not gonna put up with that, not for a single second.” However, she defied Captain Lee’s orders and jumped right in with Lee calling it the “ultimate f*** you to the Captain.”
While Captain Lee informed the guests that their charter was over, and they were headed back to the dock, he ultimately made the guest that dove into the waters, leave on her own. However, she didn’t go without making yet another splash. After being taken into the tender and taken back to shore, she decided to jump out.
Last but certainly not least, one of the worst charter guests in Below Deck history was Timothy Sykes, who appeared in Season 2. Timothy was openly condescending and disrespectful to the crew—particularly Chief Stew Kate Chastain, whose abilities he questioned before ultimately calling her a “dumb blonde.”
He brought along his much younger girlfriend and her friends, but instead of enjoying the luxury experience, they constantly complained, especially about the food. Despite having a world-class chef on board, they expressed a preference for comfort food and basic dishes like cheeseburgers, which would be frustrating for any chef working on a multi-million-dollar yacht. To top it off, Sykes even complained about the Wi-Fi—despite being in the middle of the ocean.
At the end of the charter, just as he was preparing to hand over the tip to Captain Lee, Timothy decided to deduct $5,000, claiming it was because his girlfriend couldn’t eat much of the five-star meals the chef had prepared. To make matters worse, before saying goodbye to the crew, he smugly suggested they “look into the stock market” if they wanted to make more money. Needless to say, the crew couldn’t wait to see him, and his entitled guests, off the boat.
