It appears that Ben Affleck is embracing a more carefree approach to romance these days. According to a well-placed source, the 53-year-old actor and director is steering clear of serious relationships following his 2024 breakup with Jennifer Lopez. Instead, Affleck is opting for more casual encounters that don’t demand long-term commitment.
The insider shared with In Touch that Affleck is being honest about his intentions. “Right now, he’s not interested in a long-term commitment because his schedule is already packed. His work and responsibilities as a father still require a significant amount of his time,” they explained.
Affleck, celebrated for his role in Good Will Hunting, shares three children with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner: Violet, 20, Seraphina, 17, and Samuel, 13. These family responsibilities remain a priority for him.
Nonetheless, the source notes that Affleck is open to short-term, no-strings-attached encounters. “He’s okay with casual flings and isn’t pursuing significantly younger women for these interactions,” the source elaborated. “Ben is perfectly fine with dating women his own age, as long as everyone involved understands the nature of the relationship.”
With two failed marriages under his belt, “[he] seems totally immune to falling in love, or at least totally disinterested in that at the moment,” says In Touch’s source. “Ben is trying to build an empire with his new studio [Artists Equity] and walking that path alone or with just [Matt Damon] at his side, works for him right now.”
Adds the source: “He has his eyes on the real prize, not the next random hot actress that catches his eye.”
