It’s been a year since Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez tied the knot, but it appears they’re still trying to navigate their blended family. Specifically, it appears JLo is looking to improve her relationship with Ben’s ex-wife Jennifer Garner for the sake of their kids.
Ben was seen spending time with his youngest child, son Samuel, 11. The father and son were seen exiting their vehicle in West Hollywood. Dressed in a uniform, it appears as though Samuel was going to a sporting event or practice.
Neither Jennifer Lopez or Jennifer Garner were spotted with Ben and Samuel. But according to a new report, it may not be long before the whole family is photographed spending time together.
Merging Their Blended Family Is Ben Affleck And Jennifer Lopez’s Biggest Challenge
Ben and Jennifer Garner were married from 2005 to 2018 before they pulled the plug on their decade-long relationship. The Batman actor has candidly admitted that his drinking and gambling contributed to the break-up. In addition to their son, Ben and Jen share two daughters – Violet, 17, and Seraphina, 14. Since their divorce, the exes have reportedly split custody of their three kids.
For her part, Jennifer Lopez shares 14-year-old twins Emme and Max with her ex-husband Marc Anthony. The pair were married from 2004 to 2014, and now split custody of their kids.
After tying the knot in 2022, Ben and JLo’s next step was making their blended family work. Luckily, reports say that Ben has gotten on well with JLo’s kids, and vice versa. But it appears the biggest hurdle was navigating Jen’s relationship with Ben’s ex-wife.

There have been numerous reports that the two Jennifers have found it difficult to get along. For example, in April, sources claimed JLo was upset about comments Jen made to the media about not liking her family be in the media.
“I really work hard not to see either of us in the press,” Jennifer explained. “It doesn’t make me feel good, even if it’s something nice about one of us.”
However, her comments apparently rubbed JLo the wrong way. “It’s Jennifer [Garner]’s way of saying Ben looks miserable and all his appearances in public are lame,” the insider said of JLo’s reaction. “So, it’ll be up to Ben to play referee,” they added. “It’s just a matter of time before those two women b*tt heads.”

Luckily, this may all be water under the bridge soon. A report released this week claims that Lopez and Garner are making a conscious effort to improve their co-parenting relationship. “[They] are very cordial and they have a very healthy and functioning relationship,” an insider revealed. “Learning and growing together as a new, extended family.”
Ben and JLo reportedly also have a good dynamic with Jennifer’s boyfriend, John Miller, who she’s been seeing on-and-off for years. “[They are] healthy in terms of co-parenting”,” the insider went on. “They have open communication and both are working to make this transition the best it could possibly be.”
Perhaps it won’t be long until paparazzi photos show Ben, JLo, and Jennifer Garner altogether at one of their kids’ sporting events.
