Billy Ray Cyrus responds to woman claiming she’s Miley Cyrus’ biological mother in lawsuit

Billy Ray Cyrus has firmly dismissed a lawsuit from a woman who asserts she is the biological mother of his daughter, Miley Cyrus, labeling the accusations as “false and absurd.”

The lawsuit was initiated by Jayme Lee, who alleges that she gave birth to Miley when she was just 12 years old, according to documents reviewed by the Daily Mail. Lee contends she had a “private adoption agreement” with Billy Ray and Miley’s mother, Tish Cyrus, but claims she suffered “severe emotional distress” due to Billy Ray allegedly “misrepresenting the circumstances” surrounding the supposed adoption.

Lee purports that the adoption agreement stipulated she would have the opportunity to name Miley and serve as her nanny and piano teacher.

In her legal action, Lee accuses Billy Ray and Tish of “breach of contract, fraud and misrepresentation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and unlawful interference with parental rights.”

As reported by the outlet, Lee further alleges that after Miley’s birth, Billy Ray and Tish severed all communication with her and “threatened [her] with police action” in her revised claims submitted in June.

Lee wanted a supervised DNA maternity and paternity testing of Miley and her parents, and to revisit the legality of the alleged adoption pending results. But her request for a trial was denied by a judge in October.

Billy Ray filed a motion on Nov. 20 to dismiss all of Lee’s claims. The country star, 64, accused Lee of filing the lawsuit for the “purposes of harassing” him and his family, the Daily Mail reported.

He also filed a response on Dec. 1 opposing Lee’s amended complaint, and said he had only recently become aware of the lawsuit.

His attorney told the outlet that Lee’s lawsuit was dismissed on Dec. 5.

“The Court dismissed the lawsuit with prejudice this morning and awarded Mr Cyrus the recovery of his reasonable and necessary attorney’s fees and costs,” the statement reads.

Reps for Billy Ray, Tish and Miley didn’t immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Billy Ray and Tish, 58, share three children together: Miley, 33, Braison, 31, and Noah, 25. He also adopted her children Brandi, 38, and Trace, 36, from her previous marriage to Baxter Neal Helson.

Billy Ray and Tish split in 2022 after nearly 28 years of marriage.

He recently congratulated Miley on her engagement to musician Maxx Morando, after years of being estranged from his daughter.

Billy Ray shared on Instagram, “So happy you and MaxxAgazillion found each other!!!! Congratulations! Happy to see you both so happy!!! love Dad.”
