It’s no secret that working in Hollywood is harder than it may seem. Actors, directors, and other crew members often work for hours on end just to film a movie or a TV series. Typically, a Hollywood movie will take an average of 106 days to film, although some movies, such as John Carpenter’s Halloween (1978), have been filmed in shorter periods of time.
With all the pressure actors are subjected to when filming, it’s no wonder we often hear about movies with tons of drama behind the scenes. From cast members fighting between takes to actors outright walking out of the set mid-production. In fact, Brad Pitt once walked off the Ad Astra set after a heated discussion with director James Gray.
Brad Pitt Has A List Of Actors He Doesn’t Want To Work With Again
Brad Pitt’s acting career began in the late 80s when he landed uncredited roles in films like No Way Out (1987), No Man’s Land (1987), and Less than Zero (1987). His breakthrough role came with Ridley Scott’s Oscar-winning movie, Thelma & Louise in 1991. Although this was a lesser role, compared to Geena Davis’ Thelma, Pitt’s portrayal made a big impact.
After all the attention he gained, Pitt went on to land leading roles in movies such as A River Runs Through It (1992) and Legends of the Fall (1994). He also went for roles in movies like 12 Monkeys (1995) and Fight Club (1999). As years went by, Pitt became an A-lister with a solid reputation in Hollywood. Today, he has more than 80 acting credits under his belt, according to IMDb
After so many years working in the industry, it’s no wonder that Pitt knows all the in and outs of Hollywood. The actor even has a list of stars he doesn’t want to work with ever again, according to Pitt’s Bullet Train costar Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
“You work with many actors, and after a while, you start making notes: ‘I am definitely not working with this person ever again.’ Brad has this list too: the ‘good’ list and the shit list.” Taylor-Johnson told the press at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland.

Pitt Walked Off The Set While Filming Ad Astra After A Heated Discussion With The Director
It would make sense for the Ad Astra director, James Gray, to be on Brad Pitt’s list of people he doesn’t want to work with ever again. Back in 2017, when they were filming this sci-fi film, sources claim that Pitt stormed out of the set, halting the production, after a heated discussion with Gray, who he’d had known for years.
This came as a huge surprise to fans and the press, as Pitt is known for his level-headed and charismatic personality. It’s no secret that Pitt has even stopped a fight between cast members on another movie set.
Turns out that the real reason behind the actor’s behavior on the Ad Astra set was the stress Pitt had been subdued to after his divorce from Angelina Jolie. An insider told Hollywood Life that Pitt’s discussion with Gray wasn’t too serious to hurt the production. His emotions got the best of him that day and to wind down, Pitt decided to leave the set.
“Brad is a passionate filmmaker intent on making sure every movie he makes is the best production possible, it was his passions that led to the blowup,” Hollywood Life’s source revealed. “Yesterday all that tension came to a head and things kinda got out of hand just a bit.”
Despite All The Drama Behind The Scenes, Ad Astra Became A Box Office Hit
Ad Astra (2019) is a science fiction film that tells the story of astronaut Roy McBride (Brad Pitt), who embarks on a mission to learn more about his long-lost father.
The movie has an 83% score on Rotten Tomatoes. It also received mixed reviews. While there were many aspects of the movie that entranced the audience and critics alike, some other aspects of the movie were downright confusing.
Despite the mixed critics, the movie was a huge commercial success. According to Box Office Mojo, Ad Astra grossed out more than $127 million worldwide. And although this is not Brad Pitt’s highest-grossing movie, Ad Astra helped get his career back on track after all the drama that surrounded the actor after it was revealed he was divorcing Angelina Jolie.
