It finally happened. Bravo’s royal couple, Craig Conover (Southern Charm) and Paige DeSorbo (Summer House) called it quits after three years together.
Paige took some time on the Dec. 30, 2024, episode of her podcast, Giggly Squad, to address the breakup personally. With her co-host Hannah Berner’s help, Paige explained the tearful decision and insisted the breakup was mature and amicable. By Bravo standards, Paige and Craig’s breakup is the most mature we have ever seen. A mutual decision where both parties speak highly about each other without a third party being involved? It rarely happens.
This is why the breakup between Paige and Craig is a hard pill to swallow. They were one of the most relatable and level-headed couples in the fandom. However, as beloved and admired as they were in the Bravo-sphere, their breakup was sadly inevitable and a long time coming.
Paige DeSorbo Explained Her Breakup From Craig Conover Beautifully
As shocking as the breakup between Craig Conover and Paige DeSorbo is, I’m not totally shocked they broke up. The breakup is heartbreaking and hard to wrap your mind around because of how perfect and transparent the couple was, but the signs were there.
On Giggly Squad, Paige tearfully explained their decision to part ways.
Craig and I have decided to no longer be together.
Paige continued saying that life changes as you mature, and you realize you want different things, and sometimes, those things aren’t the same dreams as your partner’s. “As you get older, I mean, I started dating Craig when I was 29 and I’m 32 now. And your 30s for women really are transformative. And you change a lot and you grow a lot. And him as well.”

- Craig hasn’t made a public statement since the publication of this article.
- However, based on Paige’s kind words, it would be understandable that he feels the same way.
“I have so much love and respect for Craig,” she continued saying. “I think he is one of the best people I’ve ever met in my entire life. I will remain the biggest fan of him and want the best for him. And he truly will get the best because he is the best.”
Because of the trajectory of their celebrity, the breakup was what was best for them. “It’s just the right decision for both of us, like moving forward in our lives, and like the direction that our lives are going in that we like didn’t forsee or like whatever.”
For fans, the fact that nothing horrible happened between them made the breakup harder to accept. “I love him. I think he loves me. I think we will remain friends,” Paige assured listeners. “No one did anything, it wasn’t like a bad thing. I think we both were just being really mature and saying what we want and what we didn’t want. And I think that’s like extremely powerful to be able to voice like how you’re feeling in real-time and what you want for your future.”
I’m still getting over the diabolical Bravo breakups between The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky — even Vanderpump Rules’ Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval. Their breakups and separations were so scandalous and filled with rumors. Paige and Craig’s, on the other hand, is filled with transparent admiration and sadness.
Considering Craig did an interview in early December 2024, where he debunked breakup rumors, I’m wondering what was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Bravo Fans Saw Craig Conover And Paige DeSorbo’s Future Timeline Shift
Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover met each other while filming Summer House in 2019. Although Craig is on Bravo’s Southern Charm, he has appeared in a few episodes as a guest of other cast members. Things didn’t heat up between the two until they starred in the Bravo crossover, Winter House. Their union was a surprising one — considering both were in relationships when they filmed the series — but they somehow made sense. Quickly, they became one of Bravo’s most successful couples.
Sadly, over time, their differences in lifestyle and future timelines came to a head. Their issues were openly discussed in countless episodes, interviews, and podcast discussions.
|
Long-Distance |
One of the biggest reasons I’m not surprised by their breakup is that they were still doing long distance after three years together. Craig lives in Charleston, South Carolina, and Paige lives in New York City. The former couple explained multiple times that long-distance suited them, and they saw each other weekly despite multiple flights and busy schedules. However, there would eventually come a point where long-distance was no longer an option. In their three years together, neither Paige nor Craig budged on a decision to move to either state. They stayed compliant with their living situations because it was seemingly easier that way. That was red flag number one. |
|
Family Timeline |
Craig has been straightforward about his desire to start a family. At 35-years-old, he expressed wanting to be a husband and a father. In fact, in December 2024, Craig told People he cut back on drinking alcohol as a way to prove to Paige that he was husband and father material. “I had made a decision months before the season [10] started to become more of a husband and father material than just the fun boyfriend,” he shared. Craig’s focus on a potential family with Paige was beautiful, but many noticed Paige didn’t make similar changes in her life — just Craig. Differences in a timeline for a family could have been a major source of contention. |
|
Business Expansion |
The longer Paige and Craig were together, the busier they became. They were a Bravo couple that made each other better in plenty of ways — including business. Since dating, Craig’s company, Sewing Down South, became an eight-figure company, as noted by Bravo, with two flagship locations. On top of running a brand that’s constantly expanding, he also has a podcast with his Southern Charm costar, Austen Kroll, and a new restaurant located in Charleston called By the Way. Similarly, Paige has never been busier. Her podcast with Hannah Berner, Giggly Squad, is wildly successful, and the two are currently wrapping up a nationwide tour. Paige is also doing countless partnerships with brands as an influencer, and a mini show with Amazon Live, In Bed With Paige DeSorbo. |

South Carolina or New York City? |
On top of doing long-distance, Craig and Paige had countless conversations about where they would end up once they were married. Southern Charm fans saw Craig buy and renovate his dream Charleston home with Paige’s help. Paige admitted on Summer House that when she was ready to settle down and have kids, she would choose Charleston as opposed to New York City because she wanted that typical family life in the suburbs. Over time, both slowly stopped mentioning who was moving where. At the same time, Craig told Page Six he was slowly falling in love with New York and would move there to be with Paige if that’s what it took to make them work. |
Between a difference in future locations, when to have children, and when to marry, I’m not surprised the two couldn’t make it work. I’m heartbroken for them and the life they created thus far, but not surprised. This, of course, does not mean I wouldn’t willingly support a second chance.
Sometimes a couple needs a breather to reassess their situation and decide what they really want before coming back together and making it work. This could be wishful thinking because of how amazing Paige and Craig are as a couple and as individuals, but the two Bravo stars deserve happiness. If that means breaking up to each get what they’re looking for, so be it. But it is without a doubt one of the most heartbreaking breakups in Bravo history.
