Hollywood actor Mike Batayeh, best known for his role as Dennis Markowski in the Breaking Bad series, has died at the age of 52.

The star’s family confirmed the tragic news to TMZ, noting that Mike had died in his sleep on June 1 at his Michigan home.

Mike’s sister, Diane, told the outlet that his death was sudden and unexpected as the actor didn’t have a history of heart issues.

The actor gradually rose to fame as the beloved manager at Gustavo’s laundromat on the American drama series, starting his role in 2011.

Mike’s family issued a heartfelt statement sharing: “He will be greatly missed by those who loved him and his great ability to bring laughter and joy to so many.”

Following his work on the hit AMC show, Mike travelled across the globe, delighting fans as a sensational comedian and voice actor.

His other acting accolades include the likes of The Bernie Mac Show, Boy Meets World and CSI: Miami.

The actor is survived by his five sisters and his nieces and nephews, with TMZ reporting: “Everyone is devastated.”

Mike’s fans and famous colleagues flooded social media with tributes to the late star, with one of the first being director Steven Lolli.

On Twitter, Steven heartbreakingly shared: “Mike Batayeh was one of my 1st & best friends in comedy in LA & a great comedian.

“No matter how successful, he always included friends. Class act.”

On his Instagram, Mike’s final post became an emotional touchstone for fans as the short clip showed the comedian on stage as the crowd bellowed in fits of laughter.

One fan touchingly wrote in the comments: “Will miss you so much! Heartbroken I’m glad that we had the chance to meet and wish I knew you more. Praying for your family.”

A second gushed: “You’ll be missed my brother.”

A post from November last year also caught the attention of fans, featuring the star smirking at the camera with a quote written above his head declaring: “The only currency you can take with you when you leave this Earth are your experiences. So live richly…”
