Among the many reality TV personalities, one may have faced the most tumultuous year: Demi Engeman from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. This season was particularly tough for her, as she leveled serious accusations of sexual assault against a fellow reality star.
Finding herself increasingly isolated from her usual MomTok circle, Demi often struggled to rally support. Now, branded as the villain of the Hulu series, she has candidly addressed whether she intends to remain on the show or make her exit.
Viewers of Season 3 will recall that Demi was embroiled in controversy nearly the entire season. Before returning to The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, she had a brief appearance on Vanderpump Villa, where she sparked a flirtation with cast member Marciano Brunette.
Demi Is Considering Her Future On The Show
Those who watched Season 3 of the series will know that Demi found herself in the hot seat for almost the entire time. She returned to Season 3 after a brief stint on Vanderpump Villa, where she developed a flirtationship with another cast member, Marciano Brunette.
While Demi’s text history with Marciano quickly became public, clearly showing off how flirty she was with him, Demi doubled down and began to claim that he had sexually assaulted her. She swore that their dynamic wasn’t consensual, though the rest of the SLOMW cast began to doubt her side of the story.
Because of the roller coaster ride Demi was on throughout the past season, she might be rethinking staying on the SLOMW cast. After so much of her personal life became exposed during filming, she explained to People that she was still weighing the pros and cons of remaining a part of future seasons:
It’s a big decision and I don’t take it lightly. I have had wonderful experiences doing the show. I’ve had moments that I didn’t appreciate and where it felt like it maybe wasn’t a good fit for me, but it’s definitely something that I’m considering. I’m weighing out all the options and I probably just need to take a little bit more time to really think about what’s best for me moving forward.
Hulu Has Invited Her Back To The Series
Demi did note that the show’s streamer, Hulu, had still given her an invitation to participate in future seasons. Any doubt was purely coming from her own considerations. “It’s been extended to me that the door is wide open and that I’m welcome back. I’m just hoping that we can continue the momentum and find the things that feel like a good fit for us long-term and find our place in this crazy entertainment world,” she said.
“It’s a wild world to navigate, but it’s also so fun and so many fun opportunities that have come from it. And I’ve watched my friends experience so many fun things, and it’s fun to watch them be successful and do all the things that they’re doing. So yeah, we’ll see,” she added.
That said, it seems like the biggest thing Demi wants to consider moving forward is carving out some peace and privacy for her and her family. She explained that a major factor in whether she would continue to appear on SLOMW was whether the vibe of the show could match the speed she was aiming for:
I want to enter into a little bit more of a slower season of life. And as we’re preparing to hopefully bring another little baby and expand our family and potentially start building a home, I really just want to bring in a softer, new, fresh energy that’s more so staying in my lane, focused on me and my circle, and obviously helping others where I can.
As of this article’s writing, Demi’s exit from the show has yet to be officially announced.
