Brian Hickerson Handcuffed in Bar Clash, Shouts About Panettiere

Hayden Panettiere’s former boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, was handcuffed by police following an alleged disturbance at a Greenville, South Carolina, bar, where he was heard shouting about the death of a former girlfriend.

A Greenville Police Department spokesperson told Page Six that officers were called to Wild Wing Cafe at about 9:10 p.m. Saturday over a report of an alleged assault.

Police said officers encountered Brian, his brother Zach and several other bar patrons who were reportedly involved in the altercation.

According to officers, Zach was “highly intoxicated” and began shouting profanities. He was taken into custody on a disorderly conduct charge and transported to the Greenville County Detention Center.

Brian, meanwhile, was released at the scene and was not charged, police said.

In footage posted to X, Brian can be seen handcuffed and seated on the ground while yelling, “GPD leaked it when my girlfriend died.”

TMZ, which first reported the incident, said Brian and Zach had been drinking for several hours before Brian approached the bar to speak with others and became involved in an argument with other customers.

Video obtained by the outlet appears to show Brian throwing a chair backward during the confrontation as several people repeatedly tell him to “stop.” In another moment, a man lifts him from behind while someone nearby shouts, “Let him go.”

Page Six said it contacted Brian’s attorney for comment but did not receive an immediate response.

Hayden Panettiere is alive. The material provided does not establish that either Brian or Zach was present at an Airbnb connected to the death of a member of the Panettiere family.

Zach claimed to TMZ last month that Brian gave the actress Narcan after the real estate agent woke up from a nap and found her unconscious, while he called emergency services. He said they jointly performed CPR on her, though she was pronounced dead on Aug. 16.

Brian broke his silence on Panettiere’s death through a statement from his attorney last month, but has since stayed silent.

“Hayden’s death remains under investigation and it is important to allow that investigation to proceed,” his attorney, Sloan Ellis, told Page Six.

“As has been publicly reported, police confirmed there were no signs of foul play,” the statement continued. “Out of respect for Hayden’s loved ones and the ongoing investigation, there will be no further comment at this time.”

Last week, TMZ reported that Brian met with the Drug Enforcement Administration amid their investigation into Panettiere’s death.

The outlet reported that local and federal investigators believe someone sold the actress drugs that might have caused her death, and they are focused on finding the dealer.

Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time Hickerson has been in trouble with the law. He was arrested multiple times for domestic violence against Panettiere, and in August 2025, he was arrested at a Barney’s Beanery in West Hollywood, California.

In video obtained by TMZ, he spit at cops and was barefoot beneath a table.
