Brooklyn Beckham has reportedly finally ended his long-running legal spat with German beer giant Beck’s, reaching a formal agreement over the use of the phrase “Becks Buns”. The son of footballing icon David Beckham and fashion designer Victoria Beckham clashed with the brewery after his company Buster Hot Sauce Inc. tried to trademark the term in 2024. The phrase was part of a broader trademark application in the United States covering everything from sauces and beers to clothing and kitchenware.
But Brauerei Beck and Co weren’t having it. The drinks giant lodged a formal objection with the US Patent and Trademark Office, arguing the term was too close to their established branding. They also took aim at other phrases such as Secks, Brasserie Beck, Becks Master Brew and Buck’s Landing. Reports say that Brooklyn faced a “tough battle” with the lager company but has now reached a compromise.
Under the terms of the agreement, Brooklyn will be allowed to use “Becks Buns” — but only if he removes the trademark classifications relating to beer, distilled spirits, wine and mirin, a type of Japanese liquor.
This change was made “in compliance with a third-party agreement”.
The legal victory may mark a rare win for Brooklyn, whose relationship with his own family has reportedly become strained in recent months.
He was notably absent from David Beckham’s star-studded 50th birthday bash in May, skipped Father’s Day celebrations, and failed to publicly acknowledge his father’s recent knighthood.
Meanwhile, he’s continued to spend time with his wife Nicola Peltz’s family — holidaying with them, posting a Father’s Day tribute to his father-in-law Nelson Peltz, and visiting the UK without dropping in on his parents.
So far, there’s no sign of a thaw in tensions between Brooklyn, Nicola and the rest of the Beckham clan.
The rift has allegedly spilt over to include Brooklyn’s younger brothers, Romeo and Cruz, who have reportedly unfollowed him on social media.
The couple’s growing bond with Nicola’s parents, billionaire Nelson and wife Claudia, seems to have replaced what was once a famously tight-knit Beckham household.
Brooklyn now appears far more aligned with his in-laws than his own family, choosing to spend more time at the Peltz mansion than Beckham HQ.
While the legal drama with Beck’s is now behind him, the same can’t be said for the personal one brewing back home.
Brooklyn and wife Nicola recently renewed their vows without Posh and Becks present. Three years after the couple tied the knot at Nicola’s family’s multi-million dollar property in Palm Beach, Fla., the duo reaffirmed their commitment to each other by renewing their vows.
“It was a beautiful evening to celebrate their love,” a source close to the couple told E! News, “an experience they’ll carry with them always.”
