In a surprising turn of events, Brooklyn Beckham has decided to unfollow his father’s longtime friend, Gordon Ramsay, on Instagram. This social media move comes in the wake of Ramsay’s comments urging Brooklyn to “remember where he came from” amidst an ongoing family rift. The celebrity chef, known for his fiery personality both on and off the screen, spoke candidly about the situation in an interview on Friday, February 13.

Ramsay, who has been a family friend of the Beckhams since Brooklyn was a young child, expressed his concern that Brooklyn is “infatuated” with his wife, Nicola Peltz, and suggested this is contributing to a strained relationship with his parents, David and Victoria Beckham. Despite having followed Ramsay prior to the interview, Brooklyn made the decision to unfollow him by Saturday morning, February 14, although Ramsay hasn’t reciprocated the digital snub just yet.

Friends of the Ramsay family speculate that Brooklyn and Nicola are upset with Gordon for discussing their family issues in public. A source close to the family shared with the Daily Mail, “Brooklyn and Nicola seem to be quite sensitive to criticism. They don’t appear to welcome any negativity and prefer to hear only praise about themselves. It seems they might not be comfortable with the truth being aired.”

Ramsay, who is a father of six himself, expressed his belief that Brooklyn will eventually come to realize the value of his family ties. He remarked that David and Victoria Beckham have been exemplary parents to Brooklyn and his siblings. Despite Brooklyn’s efforts to carve out his own path, Ramsay emphasized his respect for the young Beckham’s determination to establish his own identity.

The 59-year-old chef warned that the “penny will soon drop” for Brooklyn, but argued that David and Victoria have been outstanding parents to him and his three siblings. He went on: “He’s desperate to forge his own way, and I respect that from him.

“It’s such a good thing to do. But remember where you came from. And honestly, one day you’re not going to have your mum and dad, and you need to understand that. The penny will drop.”

Before Brooklyn blocked the TV chef, the pair had been in contact despite his feud with the family. Gordon told The Sun: “Brooklyn and I have messages a little bit, our relationship is solid. I love him – his heart is incredible.

“But it’s hard, isn’t it, when you’re infatuated? Love is blind. It’s easy to get up on that rollercoaster and get carried away. But it will come back. I’ve seen firsthand just how good parents they are.

“David, as a dad, is just incredible. They’ve both put so much energy into their kids, and I know just how many times they’ve got Brooklyn out of the s***. I think it’s going to be a matter of time before Brooklyn takes a good look at himself and understands just what his parents mean to him.”
