Brynn Whitfield Announces She is Leaving RHONY After 2 Seasons as She Discusses What's Next for Her

Brynn Whitfield has confirmed her departure from The Real Housewives of New York City.

Following a two-season run, and a 15th season that ended with her at odds with most of her castmates, Brynn, 39, took to her Instagram Story on Monday with a lengthy message for her fans and followers, titled “A Little Life Update,” where she revealed she would be leaving the show — “for now” — to focus on her dating app Hoppy.

“After a lot of thought, I’ve made the decision to walk away from reality TV. For now,” Brynn announced on June 8. “Last week, Hoppy — the dating app I co-founded and proudly serve as Chief Marketing Officer — hit a massive download milestone. I can’t even put into words how surreal it feels. All I want to do now is pour every ounce of energy into building Hoppy into the #1 dating app in the world.”

As she looked back on the years she spent on RHONY, which she joined in 2022 for the fully rebooted 14th season, Brynn described the experience as “one of the most fun, chaotic, and magical chapters of [her] life.”

“It was the honor of a lifetime to help reboot such an iconic franchise. From day one, I’ve believed RHONY is a fan’s show — we’re just temporary custodians of something that truly belongs to the viewers,” she shared. “I hope I made you laugh (a lot), cry (a little), and more than anything — I hope there’s a TV in heaven so that Mimi (who LIVED for her shows) could watch me and be proud.”

Brynn went on to thank everyone who gave her a chance and supported her amid her time on the show and noted that she’s “just getting started.”

“I’ve never felt more me than on my Spotify podcast, Please See Below … And prepare to laugh, cry, and possibly poop when you read my book coming out later this year. To date, I’ve only shared a fraction of who I am, what I’ve been through and what I’ve learned. It’s the most vulnerable thing I’ve ever written,” she shared of her future projects.

As she splits her time between NYC and London, where Hoppy has offices, Brynn looks forward to making her app stand out.

“[It] feels like a life long dream I never knew is coming true,” she admitted. 

“As Sheryl Sandberg said: ‘If you’re offered a seat on a rocket ship, don’t ask what seat. Just get on’” … So here we go … We’re done dating his dad. It’s time to steal his inheritance. Xoxo Brynnie,” she concluded.

Brynn Whitfield Confirms Exit from RHONY After 2 Seasons

News of Brynn’s exit from the series comes just days after Andy Cohen, 57, confirmed on The View that the show was “not over.”

“We are between seasons, where we typically do a little casting, which is what’s happening now, and we’re very close,” he teased last week, also sharing that there would “absolutely” be new cast members on season 16.
