Carole Radziwill made a surprise appearance on Monday night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live, where she reunited with host Andy Cohen following their years-long feud, and also promoted her upcoming appearance on CNN’s American Prince: JFK Jr.
As the 61-year-old Real Housewives of New York City alum also confirmed which of her former castmates she’s still in touch with and dished on recent run-ins with Ramona Singer, 68, and Luann de Lesseps, 60, Carole explained why she recently launched a Substack page and confirmed whether she ever installed a railing on the infamous staircase at her NYC apartment.
“I participated in a new documentary on CNN about John Kennedy, my cousin, and George Magazine,” Carole revealed on the August 4 episode of WWHL. “It airs August 9. It’s three parts. It’s nice because I don’t participate in a lot of that, but if I have a chance to say something nice about John … if I can talk about what really mattered to him and his passion and his magazine and of course, [Carolyn Bessette], then I do.”
Carole was also featured on the WWHL: After Show, where she was asked if she still communicates with any of her former co-stars. Right away, she named Dorinda Medley, 60.
“Dorinda and I share a really good friendship. So I do see her occasionally, but she’s very busy doing her other shows. I have some tea about The Traitors, but I can’t say. Actually, [Heather Thomson] moved to the Berkshires, but she comes to the city, and I see her very occasionally, a couple times a year. And then other than that, I haven’t seen anyone else in eight years,” she shared.
Carole then noted that she had actually bumped into Ramona and Luann at the same party.
“I had to like look around cuz I’m like, ‘There’s definitely cameras here.’ There should’ve been,” she laughed. “Of course I [talked to them]. I went right up to them. I’m so out of it, so I see them, and it’s sort of like, ‘Aw,’ and I’m like, ‘I don’t remember. Did we hate each other? Did we not? I don’t remember.’”
According to Carole, she went up to Ramona, and immediately, it felt as if they were back on the show.
“It was like season seven,” she described. “But Ramona was Ramona, and she was like, ‘Oh my god, oh my god, I’m so great, I’m doing so great, I’m doing so great, I have a boyfriend.’ And then Luann came in with feathers and a fedora, and I was like, ‘Oh my god, I’m obsessed. I gotta go over.’ And I went right over to her and immediately kind of hugged her because I thought, ‘Is she mad at me?’ Because it’s been 10 years.”
Although Carole went into the conversation from a friendly position, she admitted that the three of them “fell back into [the] vibe” of RHONY.
She then recalled running into Luann at a past Pride event.
“Again, I was gonna go over and say, ‘Hi,’ and I was introduced to someone, forgive me, guys, I think [from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City]. [Meredith Marks], she was lovely. And she came over and was friendly and was lovely, and then I see Luann heading towards us and she walks past and she’s like, ‘Hello.’ I was kind of like, obsessed again. Oh my god, she does not break,” Carole revealed.
As they spoke of Luann’s over-the-top antics, Andy Cohen, 57, asked Carole how she felt about Luann’s cabaret success.
“I was at the very first cabaret show. I see it sometimes on TikTok. I mean, good for her,” she replied.
As for her Substack, Carole said she won’t be writing about politics anytime soon.
“I’m choosing peace over that, but just cultural things, and it’s sort of Life with Carole Radziwill and a lot of unpublished work I’m gonna put up there,” she explained. “I like interacting with the fans, and the Bravo fans are so incredible. Even all these years later, every time someone comes over, they’re just so warm and so lovely. And so I want to sort of give them something to read and think about.”
Also on the show, Carole said she had not yet put a railing on her staircase.
“No, I didn’t. I redid my entire apartment. It’s all French architecture and molding. It looks totally different than you guys have seen it,” she said.
Carole Radziwill was featured in a full-time role on seasons five through 10 of The Real Housewives of New York City.
