Terrifying scenes at Oasis gig as brothers blindsided after flares launched into crowd

Liam and Noel Gallagher found themselves in an unexpected situation on stage when a fan unleashed flares during their performance. The legendary Oasis kicked off the Australian segment of their world tour this past Friday, October 31, treating more than 55,000 fans to a spectacular show at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium. During one of their three highly anticipated sold-out gigs in Australia, the brothers were taken by surprise in the middle of their hit song “Champagne Supernova” as a fan set off flares amidst the crowd.

The incident was captured on video, showing a vivid red light illuminating the upper stands. Moments later, a flare was thrown into the teeming audience below, landing in the mosh pit and burning brightly as concertgoers hastily moved away from the intense glow. Despite the unexpected disruption, the Gallaghers continued their performance unfazed, though Liam, 53, took a moment to address the situation. “That was naughty. Naughty, naughty, naughty,” he chided, pointing a finger at the perpetrator. Although the show went on, Noel, 58, appeared visibly concerned about the occurrence.

Virginia, a fan present at the concert, recounted the event to news.com.au. “Each time you saw this flash, it looked like a fire, but it got contained fairly quickly,” she explained. Attending with her 13-year-old daughter, Virginia shared her initial alarm. “I thought it was dangerous and decided to leave before the song ended to get outside safely,” she said.

Her husband noticed Noel’s worried demeanor during the incident, while Liam’s playful reprimand of “naughty, naughty” brought some lightness to the tense moment. Virginia remarked on the packed conditions in the venue, comparing it to sporting events where there is generally more room to navigate. “It was so crowded, like nothing I’ve seen at the footy or cricket. I just hope everyone is alright,” she expressed.

She added: “It was so packed, so packed in there. If you’re at the footy or the cricket there’s a bit more space to move around, but there… I hope people are okay.”

After the concert, Liam addressed the incident again on X, condemning the fan’s behaviour.

“To the massive C*** who launched that flare into the crowd last night at the gig in Melbourne you are 1 seriously f***ed up individual and you will get yours trust me,” he fumed.

Other fans were outraged as they called out the person who lit the flare on Reddit.

“That is so f***ed up they could have burnt some poor girls face. Hope they get arrested and banned from gigs,’ one person raged.

A second echoed: “Lighting a flare is one thing but throwing it in to a crowd is quite another. Scumbag behaviour. Hope no one was hurt.”

“Got no issue with smoke bombs/flares being lit but throwing it is a f***ing c*** move,” another added.

Oasis will return to Melbourne for shows on Saturday and Tuesday, before the duo head to New South Wales for the next leg of their tour.
