Much has been said about season 16 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. One of the most significant talking points from the show has been whether or not Charles Oakley loves his wife, Angela Oakley. Recently, the two were in an interview discussing how their marriage came to be, and now they’re offering clarification as their initial statements only added fuel to the fire.
As fans know, Angela is new to RHOA. Despite this, she has become an early fan favorite. Still, she has had to defend her marriage not only to the fans, but to her castmates as well.
The Bravo Shaderoom recently captured a portion of an interview where Charles was asked about his reasons for marrying Angela. He said, “That’s gonna be the billion-dollar question because it wasn’t even planned. We were in Vegas. We just did it.”
The most damning part came when he continued, “I don’t know. I told somebody, ‘I think somebody put something in my drink that night.’ But I don’t know. We went to the mall the next day and got a ring. I got a jacket. Just went to the service and got married.”
After seeing the online discourse surrounding the interview, Charles and Angela have offered a response. They can be seen with a woman who says, “Charles, the world wants to know the real story of how ya’ll got married.”
He then says, “The real story? We went to Vegas. Took Delta. Had a great time.” Charles continued, “I made a comment about the billion-dollar question, and I thought I was drugged. I was just trying to be funny. It wasn’t. Some people took it, some people didn’t.”
Angela chimmed in, “No, you’re not funny. It’s not funny,” He went on, “We got married. We had a good time in Vegas.” She then said, “We planned to go to Vegas. We planned to get married, actually. Yeah, you remember that?” From there, she asked what song she walked down the aisle to, and he said, “Luther.” She also asked him if he recalled asking her to marry him, and he responded, “Yes.”
Angela also joked that a person who had been drugged wouldn’t be able to remember the details of their wedding. He then doubled down that he was trying to be funny. She then joked, “You’re banned from podcasts,” which led him to joke, “I’m banned from Madison Square Garden, so.”
Towards the end, they teased their YouTube channel, where Charles will “tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth.” The channel is called Banned, and Angela says it will be released on July 29th.
