Cheryl, the ex of One Direction star Liam Payne, has vowed she “will do the right thing” for their son Bear, who now stands to inherit his late father’s entire £24million fortune. The singer tragically fell from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina last year and was declared intestate as he did not have a will.

This means that his estate is divided among any children. Liam, 31, only had one child; eight year old Bear, whom he shared with Cheryl. The Girls Aloud singer, 41, was given the power of administration over the musician’s estate after his death, and it is now believed that Liam’s wealth, largely accumulated during his boyband years, will be put into a trust for his son. Friends of TV personality Cheryl have stated that she always wants to do what is best for her son – like Liam had done during his tragically short life.

It is understood that Liam left a huge total of £28,595,000, which was later reduced to £24,280,000 after his expenses and debts were paid, according to court documents, as reported by The Mirror.

“It is a small consolation that Bear will never want for anything, that he will at least benefit from that. Liam had some very sensible people around him for a time and he adored Bear so much. He always wanted to do the right thing by him financially,” a source close to Liam told Mail Online.

Friends added that the singer was determined to ensure his only son would be well cared for if anything were to happen to him.

Consequently, his girlfriend at the time of his passing, American model Kate Cassidy, is set to receive none of his inheritance.

Liam’s estate was issued as a limited Ad Colligenda Bona grant, usually sought during the sale of a deceased person’s property when executors find a buyer soon after death.

Legal documents reportedly list Cheryl alongside Richard Bray, a music lawyer known for representing A-listers like Ed Sheeran.

While Kate, who had plans to wed Liam, was notably excluded from the will, she seemed unfazed as she later took on Instagram to share the contents of her handbag with her 900,000 followers.

She displayed a Starbucks sandwich and some hair extensions with the whimsical caption: “What’s in your purse? ? ? Mine: starbucks and @glamseamless.”

Earlier this week, the model also shared snaps from her visit to the Miami Grand Prix.
