Chrishell Stause, a prominent figure on Netflix’s reality sensation Selling Sunset, has captivated audiences for years. However, escalating tensions with fellow cast members seem to be pushing the beloved star to her limits.
Rumors suggest that Chrishell might be considering a departure from the show. Following what she described as a “brutal” experience during the Season 9 reunion, the star has expressed a desire to make her exit permanent.
The conclusion of Season 9 was anything but smooth for Chrishell, particularly during the reunion special. Throughout the season, she found herself entangled in conflicts with not just one, but two castmates, Nicole Young and Emma Hernan, which heightened the drama significantly.
Chrishell Said She’d Be Leaving The Show For Her Mental Health
Season 9 of the series only recently came to an end, and during the reunion episode, Chrishell had a particularly rough time. Over the course of the season, she faced drama with not one, but two of her costars, Nicole Young and Emma Hernan.
Fans of the show will know that there has been tension between Chrishell and Nicole ever since Chrishell accused her castmate of using drugs back in Season 6. There was also chaos when Nicole claimed that Emma had an affair with a married man, with Chrishell caught in the middle of the drama.
Coming out of the reunion, Chrishell opened up to Bustle about how it made her realize she needed to step away from the show for the sake of her mental health. She explained that the reunion episode, in particular, made her feel targeted in a way that wasn’t good for her:
The reunion was so brutal. In that moment, I realized I will be done here going forward. I wish everyone the best, but this isn’t the place for me. It felt a little bit like a dog pile.
“I’ve vacillated back and forth with this decision in the past. It’s no longer good for my mental health. I have to be honest — having come from nothing, it’s really hard to turn something like this down,” Chrishell said. “[But] I’ve gotten to a place where I don’t need the show financially. I’m lucky to have other forms of employment,” she added.
Chrishell Isn’t Leaving The Show With Bad Blood
Despite the bad taste that the most recent season may have left in her mouth, Chrishell has said that she’s not going to hold it against the other cast members. That is, she plans to leave the series on good terms, not holding any grudges on her way out.
In the same conversation with the outlet, Chrishell elaborated on her take about a potential Season 10 that didn’t include her in the cast:
If they do continue, I wish them the best. If they do [decide to] do another one, by then, I may not watch it. I don’t know. The show has given me so many opportunities, and I don’t want to be bitter about it.
We’ll see if there even ends up being a Season 10 for Chrishell to tune into. As of this article’s writing, Netflix hasn’t confirmed the official status of her exit from the series.
