Chrishell Stause, a prominent figure on Netflix’s Selling Sunset, made waves on November 7 by announcing her departure from the show. Adding fuel to the fire, she has alleged that Jason Oppenheim once threatened to pull the plug on the series entirely. Her exit has also led her to unfollow most of her former castmates.

Having joined the popular reality series in its 2019 debut, Chrishell quickly captured the audience’s affection but also found herself clashing with several fellow cast members. Both she and Chelsea Lazkani faced exclusion from the premiere event celebrating the show’s ninth season.
In a resurfaced interview clip shared by Carlos King, Chelsea Lazkani opened up about experiencing microaggressions from her Selling Sunset colleagues. She expressed her frustrations, saying, “I’ve struggled a lot. I often don’t feel heard or seen. When I am heard, I’m often misheard, and my mannerisms and natural dialect are frequently misconstrued.”
She further elaborated, “My intentions are always pure. I’m very much a lover, and I bear no malice towards anyone.” Chelsea became emotional, shedding tears as she explained how she is often perceived as “aggressive” or “a bully,” while similar behaviors from her co-stars are seen as them merely standing up for themselves.
She continued, “And my intentions are always so pure, like I’m very much a lover. I have no malice in my heart for anyone in the world.” Chelsea went on to say there are undertones of people perceiving her as “aggressive” or as “a bully.” She later began to cry in the interview and stated that the same behavior from her costars is labeled as them standing up for themselves.
Chelsea also mentioned that her “closest friends” on the show were Chrishell and Emma Hernan, and that they have “leaned in” to support each other.
Chrishell caught wind of the 2024 emotional interview and left a comment. She said, “This is heartbreaking. And WHY you shouldn’t have an all white production company with an exec producer credit and editing power to Jason who has power to say, if you don’t take that out, there is no show.”

Carlos later responded to Chrishell, saying, “@chrishell.stause we love you for standing up for Chelsea and our community as well 🙏🏽🌈”
In other Selling Sunset news, according to US Weekly, Chrishell has unfollowed practically everyone from the show since announcing her exit. However, she is still following Chelsea.
