Recently, Claudia Winkleman, the host of “The Traitors” and a former star of “Strictly Come Dancing,” shared a quirky revelation about her personal life that has captured attention. In a past interview, the beloved 54-year-old TV personality opened up about a surprising deal-breaker in her relationship with her husband, Kris Thykier—his water-drinking habit. During a 2020 appearance on the Off Menu podcast with comedians James Acaster and Ed Gamble, Claudia confessed her extreme aversion to water.

“I don’t like or believe in water, and I refuse to have it,” she stated emphatically. The mere sight of a glass of water approaching her is enough to set off her internal alarms, as she elaborated, “It’s a solid no from me.”

Claudia discussed the impact of this unusual aversion on her romantic life: “My husband drinks copious amounts of water. I really like him, but it’s a problem. He’s guzzling, and I’m like, ‘Don’t touch me. ‘Claud, take your bra off.’ I don’t think so—you should be ashamed of yourself.”

The mother of three continued her humorous recount: “Imagine you’re on a date—I’ve been with the same man for what feels like a century. He’s pondering the menu, and when someone asks, ‘Would you like some water?’ he says, ‘Yeah, sure,’” according to the Mirror.

“Then they hand him a pint glass of water, and he downs it completely. Are you going to want to kiss him after that? No. A wet mouth with a big fleshy tongue covered in liquid,” she quipped.

Claudia then made a surprising admission about her unusual phobia, disclosing it’s not merely water that troubles her, but practically all liquids. “I want a dry, shrivelled-up little man, I want to sleep with Mr Burns, he doesn’t drink water, I want him at the table,” she confessed.

“I just don’t like liquid, I don’t like wine, there’s all kinds of stuff. Is this too weird?”

Claudia has been wed to film producer Kris for 26 years, having tied the knot in 2000. The pair share three children, Jake, Matilda, and Arthur.

The beloved presenter stunned fans today as she announced she’d be stepping down from her role on Strictly Come Dancing, alongside co-host Tess Daly.
