A truck driver has had a lucky escape after his cement truck veered off a road and spectacularly crashed in the middle of a paddock.
In video filmed recently, the truck is seen smouldering by the side of a road in rural Simpson, a two-and-a-half hour drive south-west of Melbourne.
The driver, having suffered some cuts and bruises, appears shaken as he explained what happened to police.

‘This bloke has just got out of that,’ a witness exclaims. ‘F*** me. Wowee.’
Approaching the truck, the vehicle’s crushed roof and destroyed front seat interior shows the severity of the incident.
‘They got him out of this,’ the man is heard saying.
‘Oh man, how the f*** do you survive [that]?’

Social media users were left amazed by the driver was miraculously uninjured.
‘How is this guy even alive wow,’ one said, whilst another agreed the driver was ‘one very lucky man’.
The corner seems to be a notorious car crash spot, with one local writing it’s a ‘dangerous corner that’s not been fixed for numerous years’.
‘I know of 5 others that have ended up where he is, cars and buses!’
‘You do more than 60km in a 100km zone there in the rain and (you’re) done.’
‘Only a matter of time before there is actually a death.’
Victoria Police have been approached for comment.
