Corey Feldman recently shared his thoughts on the Oscars’ tribute to the late director Rob Reiner, likening it to “a family reunion I wasn’t invited to,” as he addressed his absence from the event.
“I’m not going to delve into my personal feelings about that right now,” Feldman, 54, commented in an interview with Entertainment Weekly alongside Jerry O’Connell and Wil Wheaton, marking the film’s 40th anniversary.
Earlier this month, Billy Crystal spearheaded a heartfelt segment at the 2026 ceremony, honoring Rob and his wife, Michele Singer-Reiner.
Joining Crystal on stage were several distinguished actors who had collaborated with Reiner, including Demi Moore, Meg Ryan, as well as Feldman’s “Stand By Me” colleagues, O’Connell and Wheaton.
“For now, I just want to express that we’re all devastated by how things unfolded, losing Rob when we had all hoped he’d be part of this tour at some point. It’s truly a tragedy,” Feldman added.
“I think Jerry and Wil did what had to be done,” Feldman said, adding that his original feeling “was a fleeting moment.”
“I don’t feel like I missed much at all,” he continued.
“I personally was probably maybe a little bothered by the fact that nobody got to speak or do or say anything from their own heart.”
“Although they did a wonderful job, I would’ve liked to have heard from Wil and Jerry and a few other people up there,” he closed.
Page Six has reached out to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for comment.
Rob Reiner and his wife Michele were both found killed in their Los Angeles home on Dec. 14. He was 78, while she was 70. The couple’s middle child, Nick Reiner was arrested for their murders the following day.
Nick has been charged with two counts of murder for the deaths of his parents. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
If convicted, he could be facing life in prison without parole or the death penalty. His next court date is scheduled for April 29.
