This season, several cast members criticized Amanda for her business centered around money manifestation. However, Kyle, who introduced Amanda to the group, stood out as one of her few defenders.
During the reunion, Kyle hinted at Dorit possibly experiencing financial difficulties, while Erika Jayne mentioned reports of a potential foreclosure on Dorit’s home.
“I bumped into Kyle,” Crystal shared on the podcast Humble Brag, as documented by @byewighellodrama on Instagram. “She expressed to me that she felt genuinely sorry for Amanda. Kyle was very much like, ‘I tried to safeguard her… Everyone was so harsh towards her.'”
“I ran into Kyle,” said Crystal on Humble Brag, via @byewighellodrama on Instagram. “She said to me she felt really bad for Amanda. She was very like, ‘I tried to protect her. … Everyone was so mean to her.’”
“And I said, ‘I know,’” Crystal continued. “We were talking about her being sort of … the OG that welcomes [the newbies]. It’s like on her to welcome newbies. But she said, ‘I really tried with Amanda. I really worked hard.’”
According to Crystal, Kyle had just finished a gallery shoot for Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip when they spoke.
“And she said, ‘[The shoot] was so nice because … no one’s fighting. Like you’re actually going to the studio to have fun and take pictures,’” added Crystal. She then addressed gallery shoots in general, saying, “When you [usually] do those shoots … it’s always after the season, before reunion. … So it’s like you haven’t fought it out yet, but it’s still uncomfortable.”
Later on, Crystal addressed how Kyle and Erika brought up Dorit’s alleged financial struggles at the reunion (amid claims that she spends too extravagantly).
“I’m like, ‘Whoa,’” said Crystal, recalling her reaction. “They’re all facts, but … it stings. But it’s also like, this is reality, and the economy is really rough. I think it’s a very hard situation to be a Housewife. I think people don’t really realize the pressure there is to keep up with the Joneses.”
“People don’t want to watch broke people,” she added. “They want to see wealth. … But then it’s like, what do you have to give up to get there?”
New episodes of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills air on Thursday nights on Bravo.
