The trend of pelvis cutouts is making a stylish return.
When Dakota Johnson arrived in Saudi Arabia for the 2025 Red Sea International Film Festival on Thursday night, she made quite an impression with her fashion-forward attire. Her ensemble was reminiscent of a modern-day Holly Golightly, a nod to classic elegance with a contemporary twist.
Johnson’s choice was a striking custom gown by Alessandra Rich. This black dress featured a strapless bustier top with a daringly deep neckline, connected to a long, sleek skirt that boasted a daring front slit. The ensemble was cleverly tied together with a bow at her navel, creating a chic and skin-baring look. The garment’s cutouts, positioned just below her hips, added an extra edge to the outfit.
Complementing the gown, she opted for understated yet chic black patent slingback pumps from Paris Texas, retailing at $695. On her right ankle, she adorned a delicate Jenny Bird anklet, priced at $118, adding a subtle touch of sparkle to her ensemble.

Around her neck was a Chopard bib necklace that was — quite literally — dripping in diamonds, matching her diamond chandelier earrings, also from the designer jewelry house.
Chopard is the film festival’s official partner, so it’s a sure bet that the brunette actress had her pick of pricey jewels to add tons of sparkle to her classic black dress.
The actress traded in her signature sheer red carpet style for the evening, though she still found a way to show a little skin.
Johnson is well-known for wearing see-through silhouettes, though she clapped back at critics of her wardrobe choices this past fall.
“I really don’t care,” the 36-year-old shared in an interview with Vogue Germany, adding, “If I find a beautiful dress that I feel comfortable in, of course I want to wear it!”
