In the latest buzz surrounding Dancing With The Stars, professional dancer Ezra Sosa recently turned to social media to stand up for his partner, Jordan Chiles, following a wave of criticism. Fans of the popular reality show had taken issue with what they perceived as the gymnast’s “bad attitude” during the most recent episode.
Addressing the backlash, Ezra made it clear that Jordan’s portrayal as a “mean girl” online was inaccurate. He shared evidence to support his claims, emphasizing that their partnership was harmonious and, contrary to online speculation, all was well.
Ezra used his platform to explain that, unlike online comments, Jordan isn’t actually a “mean girl.” He took the time to pull out the receipts and show that everything was going just fine with his celebrity partner.
Jordan Drew Criticism For Her Body Language
The drama started last week after Jordan and Ezra’s dance performance. Once they finished their number for Disney week, the show went on to announce that there would be another DWTS tour. When the announcement was made, Jordan was ushered off the stage so that she wouldn’t be in frame of the cameras, and viewers thought she looked annoyed as she was quickly guided offstage.
Another moment that drew fan backlash was when Ezra hoisted his partner off the ground right after they learned they were safe from eliminations that week. Jordan could be seen asking Ezra to stop holding her in the air:
The two instances combined got rumors swirling that Jordan might be the season’s villain, but Ezra wasted no time in dispelling the claims.
Ezra Assured Fans He And Jordan Get Along
Ezra ended up posting a video of himself on his Instagram page to address the drama, noting that Jordan was just joking when she told him to put her down, and that fans might not understand their dynamic of her specific brand of humor. “I didn’t feel like I needed to make this video until today,” he noted, saying the rumors that they didn’t get along or that he wasn’t having a good time that season “couldn’t be further from the truth.”
Ezra defended Jordan’s confusion when she was so quickly pulled out of the camera shot, saying he thought the decision to announce the tour so soon after their performance was a poor one. He also called their relationship a “brother-sister dynamic,” meaning there were times when it could be contentious and playful without actually being malicious.
He also doubled down with a written post on his Instagram story, where he elaborated on why he felt compelled to speak out and defend Jordan:
I can take a lot, but when it starts to involve my partner, that’s where I draw the line. She is an incredible human being and someone I care about deeply. The bond we’ve built and the way we show up for each other is real and special, even if it doesn’t fit everyone’s idea of what that should look like.
“Having her as a partner has genuinely changed my life in the best ways. Seeing comments that paint a different picture hurts, because it’s not a reflection of our bond at all. What we share is something I’ll always stand up for. I’m so grateful for @jordanchiles you don’t even know,” he added.
