David and Victoria Beckham are said to be “heartbroken’ after their eldest son, Brooklyn, married for a second time without any members of the Beckham family present. Brooklyn, 26, and wife Nicola Peltz renewed their vows in a secret ceremony on 2 August in New York’s Westchester County, with the entire event focused on the Peltz family.
Nicola, 29, wore her 70-year-old mother Claudia’s vintage 1985 wedding gown, while her billionaire father Nelson, 83, officiated the ceremony. All of Brooklyn’s parents and siblings, including Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14, reportedly only learned of the event when it appeared on a US website.
A source told The Sun: “This feels cruel and spiteful. The Beckhams feel they’ve lost their precious boy and there’s no way back. It’s heartbreaking, especially for David, to see Nelson in such a key role when not one member of the 30-plus extended Beckham family even knew about it.”
The family’s concerns about a growing rift first arose when Brooklyn missed David’s 50th birthday celebrations earlier this year. Now, some close to the couple are questioning whether Brooklyn even plans to keep the renowned Beckham surname.
“August 2, 2025, is this the day Brooklyn declared himself no longer a Beckham?” the insider added. “It certainly feels like it.”
Rumours of tension between the Beckhams and the Peltzes have circulated since Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding in 2022. Reports at the time suggested disagreements over wedding arrangements and dress choices, with speculation that Victoria’s offer to design Nicola’s gown was rejected.
Although both families publicly dismissed rumours of a feud, Brooklyn’s increasingly close ties with his wife’s family, including frequent appearances at Peltz events and extended visits to their Florida mansion, have intensified speculation.
Brooklyn described the vow renewal as a “really beautiful experience” while admitting he is still head-over-heels for his wife. Speaking for the first time about the day, the 26-year-old admitted he’d happily do it “every single day” if he could.
Brooklyn said the moment was all about creating a “really cute memory” they could treasure forever. Nicola was by his side as they exchanged longer vows than their original wedding.
Speaking to People, he shared: “It was beautiful. We just wanted a really beautiful experience, a really cute memory. To be honest, I could renew my vows every single day with her. I think the most important thing that someone can do is find that person that they’re going to spend the rest of their life with. It definitely shapes you as a person. It was really, really cute. It was really fun.”
