Sir David Jason has enjoyed a remarkably successful financial year, thanks to a diverse range of ventures. While his iconic television roles, particularly in “Only Fools and Horses,” continue to be lucrative, his earnings extend well beyond the screen.

The cherished actor has embarked on various projects that contributed to a significant financial windfall, culminating in an impressive payday of nearly £1 million last year.

A substantial portion of this income was generated by his book, “This Time Next Year,” which debuted in October 2024. The title cleverly references the catchphrase of his famous character, Del Boy Trotter, who would often proclaim, “This time next year, we’ll be millionaires.”

According to reports from The Sun, Peglington Productions LTD, Jason’s production company, recorded a taxable income of £750,000, highlighting the book’s success.

In addition to his literary endeavors, Jason supplements his income by leasing out his helicopter and continues to profit from his earlier memoir, “A Del Of A Life.” Meanwhile, he remains a sought-after figure in the world of television and film.

Last year he starred in a fix-it TV show with Jay Blades called David & Jay’s Touring Toolshed. And it’s not going to be stopping there, Sir David previously said he still wants to dominate Hollywood too.

His yearly income is incredibly impressive and contributes to his incredible net worth which is said to be between £7.3m-£8m.

The net worth has been built up due to a range of things, most notably from The Only Hools and Horses where by the mid 1990s, he was earning £100,000 per episode for the Christmas trilogy.

His role in A Touch of Frost saw him earning a large sum of money too, although the exact salary was never disclosed, the salary bracket for that time would have been well into six figures as year, particularly as the lead.

He also makes money from royalties, his books and touring.

Outside of his finances, David holds an incredibly legacy, with Del Boy recognised as one of the great comedy characters in the UK after the launch of Only Fools and Horses in 1981.

It’s often hailed a British sitcom classic, with the show following the misfortunes and adventures of Derek Trotter and Rodney Trotter.
