Former Big Brother host Davina McCall has shared that she is getting “stronger and stronger every day” following a brain surgery, as she showed off her toned abs. The 57-year-old required a “life-saving” operation at the back end of last year after being diagnosed with a tumour.

Today, posting to Instagram, the TV personality shared a snap of her in a red short and vest top set as she flexed her muscles, with a huge grin on her face. Her toned arms, stomach and legs were on display as she appeared to be very proud of herself.

Captioning the sporty snap, Davina explained that she and her boyfriend, Michael Douglas, had been on a walk and then hit the gym. She said: “So this morning me and @mdlondon went on a walk then went to the gym and we felt amazing all day. I’m really feeling stronger and stronger every day.”

She continued: “Today was day two of week two of our strength and sculpt challenge on @ownyourgoalsdavina with Natalie … an amrap…

“I found this one hard… really cardio… but I LOVED IT!! My triceps are killing me ALREADY!!! I can feel progress.”

Despite Davina saying she was feeling good and her looking good, some fans in the comments seemed somewhat concerned. One wrote: “Really pleased about your recovery, however, you do look very lean not as healthy and strong as previous years.”

Another echoed: “So pleased for your recovery but you are skinny – don’t lose any more weight! Tell me to mind my own – only your best at heart.”

However, others applauded her – even branding her as “superwoman”. One follower penned: “Crazy to think you’ve only recently had brain surgery!! Superwoman! All the good fuel Holly is feeding you too no doubt.”

“Looking fabulous and absolutely smashing it Davina!,” another said while a third added: “Wow @davinamccall you are utterly inspirational! Your smile & energy radiate from this fab photo.”

Davina’s tumour was a 14 mm wide colloid cyst, which is a rare, non-cancerous fluid-filled sac in the brain.

It was found after she was offered a health check-up as part of her menopause advocacy work.
