Demi Lovato has pulled the plug on some of her tour stops, citing health issues that remain unspecified.
“My Lovatics – I’m thrilled to be hitting the stage again this year and visiting as many cities as possible,” Lovato shared on Instagram Stories on Tuesday. She was referring to her upcoming “It’s Not That Deep” tour. “However, as I began to gear up for the tour, I realized I might have bitten off more than I can chew.”
Lovato, known for hits like “Cool For the Summer,” further explained, “To prioritize my health and to ensure I can deliver my best performance at each show, I need to incorporate more downtime. This will allow me to rest, rehearse, and manage a schedule that’s more balanced.”
The 33-year-old star announced she would be canceling her planned shows in several cities, including Charlotte, N.C.; Nashville, Atlanta, Las Vegas, and Denver, originally set for April.
“I’m heartbroken to announce that I won’t be able to see you on this tour,” she expressed, also mentioning, “Orlando – your show is rescheduled to April 13th, where we’ll start the tour.”
Lovato explained that fans who purchased tickets through AXS or Ticketmaster would automatically be issued refunds, while third-party sellers ticket buyers would need to reach out to their point of purchase.
She added that in Orlando, Fla., “previously purchased tickets” would be “honored for the new date.”
“I am so excited for this tour and am looking forward to seeing so many of your faces singing with me!” the “Sorry Not Sorry” hitmaker concluded the announcement. “Thank you for your support always. I love you and I cannot wait to see you soon.”
The tour — which Lovato announced in October — was originally set to kick off in Charlotte on April 8.
A rep for Lovato did not immediately return Page Six’s request for further comment.
Lovato — who showed off her dramatic 50-pound weight loss in bikini photos last month — previously said she wouldn’t tour anymore, amid her 2022 “Holy Fvck” tour.
“I’m so f–king sick I can’t get out of bed,” she wrote atop apparent photos of a hotel room in September 2022. “I can’t do this anymore. This next tour will be my last. I love and thank you guys.”
Lovato is the latest musician to step away from the mic due to a health concern.
In September, Lady Gaga abruptly pulled the plug on her Miami Mayhem Ball, explaining that her voice was “extremely strained.”
“Both my doctor and vocal coach have advised me not to go on because of the risk it poses,” she wrote at the time.
Also in September, Lola Young canceled a performance at Audacy’s We Can Survive show due to mental health concerns before collapsing onstage at the All Things Go Music Festival a day later.
“Lola is very open about her mental health and there are very occasionally days where myself and my team have to take protective measures to keep her safe,” the singer’s manager, Nick Shymansky, wrote via Instagram at the time.
“She is an incredible person and always takes her fans, career and performances seriously. I can only send huge apologies for the inconvenience caused.”
