When fans learned that Jeffrey Dean Morgan was going to host a travel show and then saw its trailer, they knew Destination X would be a remarkable reality show. What wasn’t immediately clear was that Jeffrey would seem to delight in torturing the cast of Destination X, who would still love filming the show. The fascinating interplay between Jeffrey and Destination X’s cast members with unique personalities allowed it to become the hot new reality show of the summer.

Even though he was surrounded by people with unique personalities, Christian “Biggy” Bailey stood out during Destination X’s first season. With that in mind, it was heartbreaking that Biggy exclusively told TheThings that he was haunted by Rick Szabo’s Destination X betrayal.

Destination X’s Christian ‘Biggy’ Bailey Revealed How Often He Thinks About Rick Szabo’s Betrayal Months Later

In July 2025, TheThings journalist Matthew Thomas exclusively interviewed Christian ‘Biggy’ Bailey about his Destination X experience. During that discussion, Biggy was asked about the moment when Rick targeted him and revealed that he had a secret alliance with Peter Weber. While reflecting on the situation, Biggy stated that he is still haunted by Rick’s betrayal months after it happened.

“Am I still mad about it? Of course. Do I still think about it all the time? How close I came? Yes.”

To Biggy’s great credit, however, he also told TheThings that he didn’t take the betrayal personally.

While talking to TheThings. Biggy stated that he recognized that Rick’s betrayal was all part of the game. Biggy also explained what he learned from the betrayal.

.

“Look. It’s a game. You know? There can only be one winner. I get it. It is what it is. It happened… At the end of the day, it’s just a game. It is what it is. Everything happens for a reason, man. Everything’s a learning experience. And the thing I learned is that, well, you can’t really trust anybody on a reality show.”

It is also important to note that when asked about the current state of their relationship, Biggy stated that he didn’t have any bitter feelings about Rick.

Still, Biggy perfectly described how painful the moment Rick turned on him was.

“Dagger in the heart, brother. Dagger in the heart.”

Even though Rick Szabo turned on Christian ‘Biggy’ Bailey, they got to the end of Destination X Season 1 together. As a result, when Biggy was interviewed by TheThings in July 2025, he was asked how he felt about working with Rick throughout the season. Without missing a beat, Biggy stated that he regrets working with Rick.

“The regret is being [aligned with Rick] in the first place, to be honest with you.”

From there, Biggy questioned how much of the relationship he thought he had with Rick was genuine. Biggy also described why he let his guard down around Rick during the game. “We did have some good conversations. You know? Were they all true? Hell. I don’t know. I just let my emotions get involved. There was literally out of everyone on the show, there was a little distrust with just about everyone. But, for whatever reason, I just had my damn blinders on to Rick.”

While talking to TheThings, Biggy discussed how frustrating he was that he trusted Rick after being warned not to. Then, Biggy explained why he built a strong bond with Rick.

“It sucked too because people had told me, ‘You can’t trust Rick.’ My issue, I really have my blinders up to Rick because after episode one, after Josh kinda went in on Rick, I felt bad for him. You know, I had a lot of empathy, and I was the only one who would talk to him.

From then on, I talked to Rick. I talked to Rick probably, outside of Mack and Shayne, probably the most. I was very close with Rick. Like, we would share a lot of things, you know, like personal things, and just game things. And so I just had my blinders on. You know, Shayne tried to tell me. He said, ‘Biggie, I’m telling you, you cannot trust him.’ I was like, ‘No. No. You don’t get it. You don’t get it. He’s he’s a good guy.’ Wrong. But, you know, it is what it is. You know? It’s a game. But God, in the moment, that hurt like hell.”

After learning how strong Biggy felt his bond with Rick was, it makes perfect sense that he remains haunted by the betrayal.
