Dianne Buswell and Joe Sugg, known for their journey on Strictly Come Dancing, have already decided on a name for their expected baby boy. The couple, who delighted fans earlier this year with the news of their pregnancy, have made Dianne the first pregnant dancer on the show. In a heartfelt video, Dianne shared that revealing her pregnancy was the most nerve-wracking experience she’s ever had. The duo, who began their romance on the popular BBC show in 2018, regularly invite followers into their lives through YouTube videos.

On October 27, the couple uploaded a new video where they discussed their anxiety about sharing the pregnancy news with their families, noting it was much more daunting than announcing it to their fans. Addressing viewer questions, Dianne openly talked about the tense moment of telling her parents, admitting, “It was the most nervous I’d ever been. I was so nervous to tell people, I don’t know why. I almost put it off.”

Joe echoed her sentiments, describing the experience of telling family as intimidating. He elaborated, “I think it was because it was such a big life moment,” and candidly added, “I was way more nervous to tell friends and family than I was to tell you lot,” according to the Mirror.

Dianne added that her father initially thought they were joking, while Joe confessed to getting emotional each time they shared the news with someone new.

Additionally, the couple disclosed that they have chosen a name for their son. Joe mentioned, “The name that we’ve come up with, we’re not going to share it. We can’t really give any clues to it other than I don’t really see this name really anywhere.”

“I know some people who have it as their surname but it’s also the sort of name that can be shortened. I’d say it’s quite a unique name but it’s not unique as in-,” he said, with Dianne adding: “Apple or pear. It’s kind of like Joe, isn’t it? Cute when you’re little, you can call yourself Joseph when you’re older.”

Joe continued: “Or it could be a good sportsperson name. I’ve purposefully not said it out loud at all whereas Dianne keeps calling him by that name. I do feel like between now and our due date, which is another thing I don’t think we’re going to share, I worry that we might end up revealing it by accident. From now on, he’s called Derek.”

Back in September, Dianne and Joe announced their baby news through an adorable video shared on Instagram.

In the clip, they created a painting before turning the canvas around to reveal the couple drawn as stick figures, alongside a stick baby positioned between them.

They wrote alongside the post: “Our little baby boy, we cannot wait to meet you.”

During their video, they also mentioned how fascinating it would be that their son will eventually be able to watch the exact moment his parents first encountered each other.

Certain viewers expressed worry about her continuing to perform whilst pregnant, but she has responded firmly to those detractors.

She shared a video on Instagram showing herself executing a cartwheel.

Across the clip, she penned: “For all those people saying they can’t watch a pregnant girl dance! I just can’t help it when I hear the beat.”

One supporter commented: “I looove this! I think it’s so cool to see you still dancing!”.

Meanwhile, fellow professional Kai Widdrington remarked: “Tell ’em di.”
