Stefan Dennis has reassured Strictly Come Dancing enthusiasts that he and Dianne Buswell are set to return to the dance floor this weekend. The Neighbours actor was compelled to skip Saturday night’s show due to illness, with medics advising him to rest. However, he and his professional partner Dianne made an appearance on BBC Two spin-off It Takes Two tonight (October 13) to provide fans with an update.
Speaking from the dance studio via a video message, the duo revealed they should be back in the competition this weekend. Stefan stated: “Hi everyone, just want to say thank you very much for your support and well wishes while I was away last week. We’re back in the training room aren’t we? If all goes well, which it will, I’m going to be back on the floor with the lovely Dianne this Saturday!”
When asked what he and Dianne might be performing, he responded: “We might be just doing the Charleston, yeah, I can finally get to use my basketball hand!”
“Yes, from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for all this support and love, and we are very, very excited to be back in the training room,” Dianne added, blowing a kiss to the camera as they signed off.
Last week, Strictly’s official Instagram account announced that Stefan would be sitting out the performance, but reassured fans that he and Dianne would automatically progress to the next round of the BBC competition.
The message read: “Due to illness over the past few days, Stefan Dennis has been advised to rest and, as a result, he will not dance this weekend.
“In line with the rules of Strictly, Stefan and Dianne will receive a bye through to next week, when they will hopefully be able to dance again.
“We wish him a speedy recovery and will hopefully see him back in the ballroom with Dianne next week,” the caption read.
