The bombshell Season 16 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta is finally out, following Kenya Moore’s firing over exposing Brit Eady’s explicit photos. The former Miss USA has since taken “full accountability” for her misconduct, but recently shaded RHOA‘s reported low ratings.
Ahead of the show’s premiere, fans and Kenya’s peers expressed different opinions about her departure. Kim Zolciak thinks it was “the best thing to happen” to RHOA while The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, Brandi Glanville slammed Bravo in support of Kenya.
Ex-RHOA star, Shereé Whitfield also called the show’s supposed decline. But are the ratings even real in the first place? Here’s a closer look at the reality TV show’s state without Kenya, and if she could return amid the insider support she’s getting.
Kenya Moore Shaded RHOA Season 16’s Inaccurate Low Ratings
Kenya Moore Appears On The Low-Rated Episodes Of RHOA Season 16
On her Instagram Story, Kenya shared TV Deets’ ratings for RHOA Season 16, Episode 2: “Series Low In Demo” at 0.16 (P18-49) and 672,000 viewers. It was captioned, “Ooooop 👀” along with her campy song, “I’m Gone with the Wind Fabulous” in the background.
But two things are worth noting here: Kenya was in both the supposedly low-rated first two episodes of RHOA S16, and streaming can cause inaccuracies in these ratings.
While many have acknowledged Kenya’s remaining presence on the show, others also pointed out that the return of the OGs—Cynthia Bailey Phaedra Parks, and Porsha Williams—clearly didn’t boost the ratings either.
But in a recent sit-down with Entertainment Tonight, Kandi Burruss said Kenya is “carrying the scene” in Season 16. The Xscape member announced her exit from RHOA in February 2024 after 14 seasons.
Now, Kandi is “annoyed” that her friend doesn’t get interviews on RHOA because “Kenya is TV… no matter how you put it.” She also wants to see Kenya come back and “twirl into that reunion.”
Shereé Whitfield Said RHOA Was “Sinking” After Kenya Moore’s Firing
Shereé Whitfield Thinks RHOA Needs Its OGs
In June 2024, days after Kenya was confirmed to be not returning on RHOA, Shereé said she was “not happy” the show was “sinking” without the OG. “I hate to see my girl Kenya go out that way,” she told TMZ.
Shereé added that “as an OG, it’s kinda hard to sit back and watch the show kind of slowly sink the way it is.”
She went on to describe Kenya as a “savage” who wouldn’t go “down or quick.” When asked if Shereé would return to RHOA, she said “if the coin is right, [she] just might.” She told TMZ that she left the show because “the coin wasn’t right.”
At that time, Kenya expressed gratitude for her firing, saying she and her daughter are “blessed” and “will continue to thrive in a non toxic environment where we feel appreciated and most importantly, protected.”
Kenya claimed that Brit had threatened her with the word “gun,” citing it as the reason for her misconduct. Brit wasn’t present when the former exposed posters of her intimate images at the Kenya Moore Hair Spa grand opening.
There’s Hope For Kenya Moore’s RHOA Return Amid Support From OGs & Andy Cohen
Kenya Moore’s Firing Remains A Divisive Topic
While Andy Cohen didn’t exactly confirm the possibility of Kenya’s return, he’s been a “great support system” for the RHOA alum this whole time. He told E! News in November 2024, that he “was happy to see [Kenya] take accountability.”
“She and I have spoken a lot over the last few months,” Andy said of his relationship with Kenya following her RHOA exit.
Back then, Kenya had just owned up to her actions on Tamron Hall. She also revealed that Andy “has called, he has checked on [her], he has given [her] advice”—overall “a really good friend” to Kenya during that dark time.
Kandi and Shereé aren’t the only OGs cheering for Kenya’s comeback on RHOA. In January 2025, Porsha Williams said she’s rooting for Kenya as well. “Things are good you know. [Kenya’s] moving around,” she told Entertainment Tonight.
In a diplomatic response, Porsha added: “[Kenya’s] got a lot of different things that she’s doing, so we’re wishing her well. Hoping she’ll be back [on RHOA] soon.”
