Sean “Diddy” Combs has emerged from solitary confinement, following recent reports.
According to TMZ, the 56-year-old music icon was readmitted to the general prison population at FCI Fort Dix, New Jersey, after a reported skirmish with a fellow inmate in July.
Us magazine has sought comments from both Diddy’s representatives and the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
In late July, news outlets like NBC News and TMZ stated that Diddy had been placed in solitary confinement amidst a violent altercation with another inmate. Prison personnel reportedly intervened to separate the individuals involved.
TMZ reported that the fight broke out after the other prisoner allegedly dissed Diddy.
Reps for Diddy did not respond to Us’ request for comment at the time.
“We are not at liberty to disclose or provide internal information pertaining to any inmate in our custody,” a spokesperson for the prison told TMZ in a statement last month. “Such information would not be available for the public domain.”
Diddy is serving a 50-month sentence after being found guilty in October 2025 on two charges of transportation to engage in prostitution.
Earlier in August, Us confirmed that Diddy is now scheduled to be released from federal prison on February 20, 2028.
The disgraced music mogul was initially scheduled to be released on June 4, 2028, however, that date has changed multiple times. In March, Us reported that Diddy’s release was moved up to April 25, 2028. Two months later, it changed to February 23, 2028. Last month, the date was pushed up to January 2028 before being moved back again in August.
Diddy’s daughter, Jessie, 19, gave an update on her father’s well-being in prison in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in July.
“He’s been very focused, you know, like being a better person for his family,” Jessie said. “He’s been very focused and he’s just always been there for us. … He’s a great dad.”
Jessie said she and her siblings have maintained “great” relationships with their dad amid his incarceration. (Diddy shared Jessie and her twin sister, D’Lila, as well as sons Quincy, 35, and Christian, 28, with late ex Kim Porter, who died in 2018. He also shares son Justin, 32, with Misa Hylton, daughter Chance, 20, with Sarah Chapman, and daughter Love, 3, with Dana Tran.)
“We definitely are very close and he gives the best advice. Like [with] clothing, he’s very very knowledgeable in that aspect,” Jessie said, referring to her and D’Lila’s upcoming fashion label. “We ask him all the time like, ‘We need help on this [or] we need help on that.’ He’s always going to be there and he’s always going to tell us the right answers. He’s literally never wrong, like, everything that he has told us about this, it’s been so helpful.”
