When it’s time for the wildest red carpet of the year, we can always expect Doja Cat to heed the call.

A habitual guest of the MTV VMAs, the 29-year-old singer roared onto 2025’s step-and-repeat in a printed Balmain gown with a plunging neckline and off-the-shoulder silhouette.

Accessorized with sapphire and diamond statement earrings from Chopard, diamond rings from the brand, a $5,995 Judith Leiber Couture lipstick clutch and peep-toe platform heels, the look was, in a word, bold. She upped the ante by applying her red lipstick on the red carpet.

Nominated this year for song of the summer for “Jealous Type,” Doja Cat is scheduled to perform the tune live for the first time later during the broadcast. She’s also up for best K-pop for “Born Again,” her collaboration with Lisa and Raye.

Doja played a dual role as both performer and host in 2021, wowing fans with several avant-garde costumes throughout the evening.

In 2023, she took a more minimalist approach, wearing a spiderweb-like creation by Monse on the red carpet before covering up in “office siren” attire to perform a medley of her hit songs.

Later on this evening, we expect to be super jealous of whatever next-level look she steps out in on stage.

The VMAs 2025 will air live on CBS, MTV and Paramount+ at 8 p.m. ET.
