Just over seven months after the death of Dolly Parton’s husband Carl Dean at the age of 82 on March 3 this year details of his will have been revealed. Unsurprisingly Dolly is the main beneficiary and he left his entire estate to the country superstar. The will had reportedly been signed in 2013, over a decade before he died, and covered his personal property, which included items relating to his wife’s iconic music career including costumes, photos, cars and other paraphernalia. However, it was also intimated he could have left a handwritten note bequeathing specific personal items to others. Should the note not be located Dolly, 79, will be responsible for distributing those possessions herself. The award winning music legend has also requested to be appointed executor of his estate.

News of Carl’s will comes after Dolly admitted to not taking care of herself properly after losing her husband of nearly six decades. In a video posted to her social media addressing rumours of health issuses she confessed: “… when he passed, I didn’t take care of myself so I let a lot of things go that I should have been taking care of.”

In the clip, which was shot as she sat in fornt of a green screen preparing to film promos, she explained why she had been forced to cancel shows and assured fans she was fine.

“I wanna say something,” she began. “Well, today’s October 8, and obviously I’m here, doing some commercials for the Grand Ole Opry, which is why I’m dressed kinda like a country Western girl.

“But before I got started, I wanted to say…I know lately, everybody thinks that I’m sicker than I am…do I look sick to you? I’m working hard here!

“Anyway, I wanted to put everybody’s mind at ease — those of you that seem to be real concerned, which I appreciate. And I appreciate your prayers because I’m a person of faith. I can always use the prayers for anything and everything.

“But I want you to know that I’m okay. I’ve got some problems as I’ve mentioned,” she continued.

“Back when my husband Carl was very sick…that was for a long time and then when he passed, I didn’t take care of myself so I let a lot of things go that I should have been taking care of.

“Anyway, when I got around to it, the doctors said, ‘We need to take care of this. We need to take care of that.’

“Nothing major, but I did have to cancel some things so I could be closer to home, closer to Vanderbilt where I’m having a few treatments here and there, but I wanted you to know that I’m not dying,” she reassured fans.
