Dolores Catania Reveals Hardest Point in Friendship With Teresa Giudice & Admits Costar Doesn’t Always “Listen to the Right People,” Plus What Dolores Told Castmates

Dolores Catania revealed the hardest point in her friendship with Teresa Giudice, and she claimed that Teresa doesn’t always “listen to the right people.” She also shared what she told her castmates “behind closed doors.”

Before the last season of the Real Housewives of New Jersey, a fan account accused Teresa and Jennifer Aydin of leaking storyline information amid filming. It was also revealed that Margaret Josephs was communicating with the ex of Teresa’s husband, Luis Ruelas, seemingly to get information.

On her Casual Chaos podcast, Teresa’s daughter Gia Giudice asked Dolores about the “hardest point” in her friendship with Teresa.

“I think the past couple of years,” she answered. “And I feel like I did really stand up for your mom and her relationship. Because I always said, ‘Let them be. Teresa’s been through a lot. She can handle this.’”

“[But] your mom felt like people weren’t doing enough,” said Dolores. “But there was only so much you could do. And then your mom gets a lot of background chatter from people.”

“She does,” Gia agreed.

“And your mom doesn’t always listen to the right people,” said Dolores, who then addressed the controversy surrounding the leak allegations. “Behind closed doors, I would say to everyone, ‘You guys are going overboard. Things are getting out of control. Why speak to a blogger? Why speak to an ex off-camera?’”

Last summer, castmate Jackie Goldschneider hinted at the show’s disconnect.

“I think [Margaret] felt like she could do the show without filming with Teresa. And I think she also was looking at [the show] a little bit as a game, you know, or a competition show,” said Jackie on the Virtual Reali-Tea podcast. “Less of a friend group and more of a competition show where, ‘If I get enough people onto my side, I’ll win.’ So I think that also contributed to the disconnect this season, unfortunately.”

“That definitely contributed to it. But I think [also] there was a level of loyalty expected of me. Friendships should be easy. They should contribute joy and ease and comfort to your life. They shouldn’t be you having to answer for everything and [have] blind loyalty,” she went on. “It shouldn’t be like that.”
