The latest season of The Traitors has expanded its definition of “reality TV star” by incorporating participants who have not previously graced the small screen, a move that has caught the attention of its audience. For the first time, viewers have noticed that the competition has welcomed individuals without prior television experience.
One notable newcomer is Donna Kelce, the mother of renowned NFL athletes Jason and Travis Kelce. Despite her lack of connections within the reality TV world, Donna bravely stepped into the castle. Unfortunately, her journey was cut short as she became one of the first contestants to be eliminated.
Upon entering the game, Donna openly expressed that her introverted nature might be a disadvantage. She confided in fellow contestants, admitting that she often found herself “fangirling,” overwhelmed by being in the presence of celebrities and not entirely comfortable in the limelight.
Donna Was Banished In Episode 3
As Donna entered the game, she explained that she felt like her shyness was working against her. She shared with a few other contestants that she was “fangirling” most of the time, not used to being surrounded by celebrities.
Unfortunately, Donna’s quietness appeared to take a toll on her chances in the game. Other players began to grow suspicious of Donna for not saying who she suspected of being a Traitor, and she was nearly voted out at the first round table. Though she was able to talk her way out of it then, she remained on many people’s short list.
Donna Was Actually A Secret Traitor
Sadly, Donna was ultimately ousted in Episode 3, after she was voted for banishment by a landslide. When she went to the Circle of Truth, however, she dropped a bombshell on the audience: she was actually the Secret Traitor the entire time, the one who’d been writing a shortlist of players for the other three Traitors to murder.
Donna’s parting words shocked everyone:
I know I’m the sacrificial lamb, and I know that I had a blast meeting every single one of you. On that note, I think I’m going to go… but you got yourself a Traitor!
The remaining contestants cheered in disbelief as Donna exited the castle.
Later, when reflecting on the experience to the cameras, Donna grew emotional. She teared up during her exit interview, though not just out of sadness—rather, she explained that she was so grateful for the opportunity, even if it was short-lived:
Playing a Traitor was tough, but I gave it my best shot. This has been a dream come true. These are happy tears that I get to do this at this point in my life. It’s just the joy of being in the game.
As of this article’s writing, it’s unclear when the next time the 74-year-old will appear on TV will be.
