Elaine Hendrix has provided an update on her return to rehearsals for Dancing With the Stars.

The 54-year-old actress took to Instagram on Wednesday, October 29, to inform her followers about her recovery progress following an injury that led to her recent hospitalization. She also outlined the training schedule she and her dance partner, Alan Bersten, plan to follow ahead of the next live show.

“Hello, everyone! I just wanted to check in and let you know that I’m doing well,” Hendrix announced in a video message alongside Bersten, 31. “I’m up and about. I’m feeling tender and sore, but today I’m starting pain management.”

Hendrix added, “I won’t be dancing today or tomorrow, but we’ll resume practice on Friday. I’m gearing up to be back in the ballroom next Tuesday.”

DWTS' Alan Bersten Says He and Elaine Hendrix Are Going to 'Take It Easy' After Her Hospitalization

Meanwhile, Alan Bersten, a professional dancer on Dancing With the Stars, expressed his gratitude for continuing in the competition despite Hendrix’s recent health setback. “Thanks to your votes, we’re safe and have another dance to perform,” Bersten shared during a TikTok Live session with his girlfriend, Emma Slater, following the Halloween Night episode on Tuesday, October 28.

Chiming in, Bersten added, “We just wanna say thank you so much for voting for us. And showing so much love to Elaine. And the support. We can feel it and we appreciate it so much.”

“Yeah, it’s palpable,” Hendrix agreed. “All of your messages, I’m seeing it all. And I just want you to know that, first and foremost, I’m OK.”

The Parent Trap actress thanked her fans for “all the love and support.”

Hendrix was hospitalized after she experienced rib pain during rehearsals for Halloween Night earlier this week. In an Instagram update on Tuesday, October 28, she revealed that she injured her ribs while dancing to Wicked’s “Defying Gravity” on the ABC competition series days prior. When she rehearsed with Bersten later, her ribs “just seized up.”

DWTS Cast Rallies Around Elaine Hendrix After Injury

Elaine Hendrix‘s absence from the Dancing With the Stars ballroom was felt on Halloween Night after she was rushed to the hospital. While introducing the remaining couples at the top of the Tuesday, October 28, episode, cohost Alfonso Ribeiro pointed out that Hendrix, 54, and pro Alan Bersten were missing from the lineup. Ribeiro, 54, […]

“I couldn’t move. They brought me to the hospital,” Hendrix explained at the time. “The doctor has said that with a day or two of rest, I should be able to continue and that’s exactly what I want to do. I want to dance, I want to keep doing this.”

Cut to Wednesday’s update: Besides announcing that she and Bersten will be back in business come Friday, she expressed regret over missing out on the Tuesday broadcast, in which Jen Affleck and Jan Ravnik were eliminated.

“The hardest part of yesterday was not being able to show you just how incredible our piece could have been,” Hendrix captioned her post, also sharing behind-the-scenes photos of the outfit she would have worn. “Here’s my costume, hair, and the overall inspo we had planned for last night. The DWTS creative team is THE BEST! 👏🏼✨.”

Hendrix’s look was inspired by Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road, and involved a tattered, neutral-toned dress and braided updo.

“You guys voted, we are going to be safe. We got another dance to [perform],” Bersten confirmed during a TikTok Live after the episode. “We’re going to take it easy but we will be back for the show. We will take this week easy.”
