Strictly Come Dancing winner Ellie Leach is set to leave the show behind for her new role as Miss Scarlett in the UK tour Cluedo 2. The 22-year-old has been used to touring with her Strictly stars and dance partner Vito Coppola in recent months, but will now do it alone as she makes her stage debut, replacing co-star Helen Flanagan.

Quizzed on whether Vito, 31, could be coming along to support her, Ellie admitted she’s unsure if he’ll understand what’s going on in the murder mystery drama. She shared: “He hasn’t seen Cluedo yet, I really hope he’s able to make it. I think he’s really hoping to come.

“Although I don’t know if he’ll understand it, I don’t know if he’ll get what’s going on, you know what he’s like. Hopefully he’ll try and get to see it at some point.” Speaking to Gaby Roslin on BBC Radio 2, Ellie went on to discuss her Strictly experience in which she made history as the show’s youngest ever winner.

Ellie said Vito was “the best partner” she could’ve asked for, but revealed she underestimated just how hard the competition was. “I had the absolute best time ever, I don’t think anyone can actually prepare you for what it’s going to be like,” she shared.

“I didn’t realise how much fun I would have and how hard it would be.” Ellie and Vito said their final goodbyes to each other on the dance floor following the end of nationwide tour last month.

In an emotional video shared by Vito backstage at the time, the pair exchanged the L bomb ahead of performing together.

Sat by Ellie’s side, Vito turned to her and asked: “Baby, are we about to perform our last show together?”

Emotional at the thought, the actress asked him to “stop” with the reminder as he went on to say: “I love you so much”.

Vito then went on to place a kiss on Ellie’s cheek as she also declared her love for him.

As they embraced each other’s company for a few more seconds, he joked: “We always end up like this.”

Alongside the post, last year’s winning pro went on to share a “promise” that the pair had made to each other after the tour ends.

In view of his followers, he wrote: “It has been just perfect right? Love you baby and always remember our promise: ‘Always there for each other’. No more words needed! Good night baby,” alongside a heart emoji.

In response, Ellie wrote: “Love you so much.”

During their time together on the show, the pair sparked romance rumours due to their touchy-feely partnership, however they’ve denied being anymore than friends.

Ellie has since been romantically linked to fellow Strictly star and EastEnders actor Bobby Brazier, 20.

The duo added to the speculation last month when they stepped out together and posed for pictures at a red carpet event in London.

Days before, Bobby was quizzed about their relationship status at the TV Choice awards.

He told The Sun: “Ellie is a sweetheart, look at her… she’s beautiful, she’s amazing, she’s good at what she does. She’s a good dancer. She is a lovely lovely friend of mine.”

On a potential romance, he added: “I don’t know… you’ll have to see what she says.”
