OWN reports that the series is “unscripted” and focuses on the lives of “high-powered African-American couples who come together to revitalize the thriving city of Huntsville, Alabama.” The cast will not include Melody Sheri, who previously announced her departure after the ninth season. The series is produced by Carlos King’s Kingdom Reign Entertainment and ITV America.
Who Will Star On ‘Love & Marriage: Huntsville’ Season 10?
The cast includes Kimmi and Maurice Scott, Martell Holt, Marsau and LaTisha Scott, Chris and Nell Fletcher, and Destiny Payton, Deadline reports. This season, the show focuses on the lives of Chris and Nell Fletcher, who will address their differences in raising their grandchildren. Martell Holt has gotten a divorce from Melody Sheri, and Destiny Payton is single after splitting from Lance, according to Deadline. Kimmi and Maurice Scott deal with parenting issues, while LaTisha and Marsau achieve a new parenting milestone as their firstborn heads to college.
Destiny is also dealing with betrayal because Lance had a child with another woman while they were still dating, and she learned of the news from the internet, People reports.
Why Is Melody Sheri Not Returning For Season 10?
As mentioned previously, Melody Sheri announced her exit from the show in January 2025, issuing a statement that reflected on her journey. “Still, this chapter must come to a close and this is the end of my chapter with Love & Marriage: Huntsville,” she said, People reports. “I am thankful for the support of those who have shown me grace, loyalty, and love. None of it has gone unnoticed, and it will never be forgotten.”
She continued her statement with a comment about looking toward the future. “I’m excited for my next chapter and what’s to come. God bless,” Sheri told her fans.
Fans reacted to one of Sheri’s Instagram posts, making it clear that they felt the show would suffer without her. “R I P to the show for me, cause I tuned in to see black successful marriages, but I stayed for YOU,” a comment read. “If you’re gone we are gone. That simple. YOU are the show!” another fan reacted. Other comments include, “We ready Melody…… Let’s Gooooo” and “Good for you they don’t deserve you, to leaving I’m leaving.”
The synopsis for the show reads: “The couples are longtime friends and avid socialites with strong personalities and strong points of view, each facing the realities of dealing with love and marriage while wanting to make this huge undertaking a success. Along the way, there will be laughter, tears, heated arguments, and even a wedding as they try to transform both the city and their relationships to achieve their dreams. Will they succeed at mixing business with pleasure? Or will the personal quarrels make foes of the longtime friends?”
