Your favorite reality TV show dance competition will be back soon for an all-new season. Dancing With The Stars has begun to tease the details for Season 34, and there’s no doubting it’ll be one you won’t want to miss.
In addition to learning who the hosts and judges will be for the new season, we’ve also begun to hear about cast announcements. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming season so far.
Your Favorite Judges And Hosts Will Be Back
Longtime fans of the show will be happy to hear that, as of now, all of the judges and hosts from last season will be returning. This means that former pro dancer Julianne Hough will stay teamed up with actor and former DWTS winner Alfonso Ribeiro as the hosts for Season 34. The judging panel will also stay the same, consisting of Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough.
Julianne herself began as one of the dancing pros almost two decades ago, and she recently took to her personal Instagram to reflect on how impactful the show had been on her life. Her caption detailed her meaningful transition from one of the dancers to one of the hosts:
Dancing with the Stars has been part of my life for 18 years, and it’s truly shaped who I am. From dancing as a pro in the ballroom to judging on the panel and now co-hosting with my bestie @therealalfonsoribeiro this journey has been full of growth, joy, and deep deep connection.
One Famous Face Has Already Been Confirmed
As of this article’s writing, we’re still waiting on further cast announcements for the season, but one exciting name has already been confirmed. Just last week, it was announced that Robert Irwin, the son of wildlife expert and reality TV star Steve Irwin, would be joining the show.
The announcement of Robert’s casting was especially exciting for DWTS fans because he’s not the first family member to compete on the show. In fact, his older sister Bindi not only participated back in Season 21, but also went on to be crowned the champion of her year.
Fans will recall that Bindi’s partner in Season 21 was Derek Hough. While Derek is now serving in a judging capacity and won’t be paired with one of the celebrities this season, while speaking with People, Derek explained that he had high hopes for her brother in the competition:
It’s been ten years since that little guy was on that front row rooting for [Bindi and me]. To see the man that he’s become in ten years is pretty amazing. We’re really lucky to have him.
For now, we’re still waiting on an official air date for the start of Season 34. Before then, it’s likely we can expect further casting to also be announced. We’re also waiting to hear which of the dancers will be confirmed as the list of pros for Season 34, but with any luck, many fan favorites will also be set to return. Until then, previous seasons of Dancing With The Stars can be streamed on Disney+ and Hulu.
