Love Island: Beyond the Villa is the latest reality TV spin-off from the Love Island franchise, set to premiere on Sunday, July 13. The series will focus on the lives of fan-favorite contestants from Love Island USA‘s Season 6, and ahead of the new series, the cast has been announced.

The original cast for the upcoming season includes couples Leah Kateb and Miguel Harichi, and JaNa Craig and Kenny Rodriguez. Other cast members include Serena Page (who won Love Island USA Season 6 with boyfriend Kordell Beckham), Olivia Walker, Miguel Harichi, Leah Kateb, Connor Newsum, and Kendall Washington, Deadline reports. Kaylor Martin and her ex, Aaron Evans, will also appear on the show. But what else do we know about the latest Love Island spin-off and its cast? And why has Kordell ditched the series?

Why Will Kordell Beckham Not Be Appearing On ‘Love Island: Beyond the Villa?’

Fans may be curious as to why Kordell is not featuring in the spin-off, but he has announced that he is busy working as an actor in the upcoming series, Southern Fried Rice, from KeyTV.

“Southern Fried Rice follows a Gen-Z Asian American girl, Koko, played by Page Yang, raised from birth by Southern Black parents as she struggles to defend and redefine her identity after being accepted into a popular Historically Black College and University (HBCU),” the synopsis reads, per Deadline. Beckham will play the character of Steve.

Offscreen his relationship with Serena appears to be going well. On May 27, she made a sweet post celebrating their love in honor of her boyfriend’s birthday. “My birthday babyy,” she wrote in the caption. “Happiest of birthdays to the literal man of my dreams, almost 1 year later and I cannot believe how obsessed I still am with you. Its so amazing to watch you grow and your dreams come true in real time, I am so so proud of the man you are growing into more and more everyday and cannot wait to spend more birthdays with you!!”

Serena ended her post by thanking Kordell for being a fantastic partner and for making her incredibly happy.

The ‘Love Island: Beyond the Villa’ Trailer Lets Viewers Know What To Expect

In the trailer for the upcoming series, fans get an exciting look into what’s to come, and what’s coming is drama! Aaron and Kaylor did not end their relationship on good terms, and during a group outing, she was left in tears. “I’m not having fun,” she screamed as she left a dinner in Miami, Florida. “I’m having a miserable time. I’m so done. I don’t want to do this. Get the cameras out of my face!”

JaNa and Kenny are still together but have not taken the next step and are not living together. “I told you I wanted us to live together,” JaNa says in the trailer. “I wanted separation… from you,” Kenny replies. Still, some couples are thriving, and Leah and Miguel may be considering marriage! Host Ariana Madix even asks the question before the clip ends.

Despite Kordell not officially being cast in the show, he does make a cameo in the Love Island: Beyond the Villa trailer, where he discusses his new opportunities.
