Everything We Know About The ‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Season 2 Reunion

One of the year’s most dramatic reality TV shows may very well be The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives. The Hulu series is now in its sophomore season, as it follows a group of Mormon influencers and mothers (collectively known as “MomTok”) throughout the highs and lows of their personal and professional lives.

The primary conflict throughout the first season was around who was officially in and out of the MomTok group; in the wake of a swinging scandal that made national news headlines, some of the members wanted to step back from the spotlight. Season 2 follows this same conflict, along with a whole host of other issues, not the least of which is what seems to be another potential infidelity.

Now that Season 2 has come to a close, viewers are still eager to know what’s happening within the relationships of the friend group. Luckily for fans, a very special reunion episode is coming very soon.

The SLOMW Season 2 Special Reunion Will Expose Some Explosive Secrets

So far, we know that the reunion episode will shed light on some touchy subjects. Hosted by Nick Viall, the cast will get the opportunity to dig even deeper into some of fans’ outstanding questions about the season.

The biggest bombshell viewers are hoping to get an answer about is whether the rumors of cast member Jessi Ngatikaura sleeping with Vanderpump Rules‘ Marciano Brunette have any truth to them. In the trailer for the reunion episode, Nick can be seen posing the question to Jessi while the cameras remain trained on her husband Jordan’s face.

Another outstanding question is that of Taylor and Dakota’s relationship. Though the pair share a young son, their on-again, off-again dynamic has often left fans confused. In a tearful moment from the teaser, Taylor makes an emotional confession:

I hurt someone I truly cared about.

While the cameras look at Dakota for his reaction, it’s also possible her remark refers to her former best friend, Miranda, who only joined for filming for the first time in Season 2, seeking to repair her friendship with Taylor and officially rejoin MomTok.

And finally, another major question we may get an answer to is that of cast member Jen Affleck’s future with the show. Viewers of the season will recall that Jen decided to step away from filming when she found out she was pregnant with her third child, struggling with her mental health and the health of her marriage.

In the trailer, Jen’s husband Zac can be seen speaking up against Demi in defense of his wife, saying Demi claimed she was the victim when really it was his wife who deserved sympathy.

One Main Cast Member Won’t Be Present

Though many of the women in the group are attending the reunion in order to share their side of the story and set the record straight, there will be one cast member who is absent from the special episode. Despite telling the cameras that she was a “fan favorite” on the show, cast member Demi Engemann was not present for the special reunion.

While Demi’s absence from filming made some fans suspect that it meant she was out of the show (or even the friend group) for good, she clarified that it did not hold a deeper significance like they were describing.

Instead, Demi took to her personal Instagram page, where, in a Q&A with her followers, she explained that the reason for missing the reunion was purely due to a scheduling conflict:

It was short notice and the only day they could get the location secured was the day that me and my entire family did Disneyland. We had already booked all of our flights and the Airbnb was nonrefundable or I would’ve moved the trip to be there. I tried to have production move it to another day and they couldn’t swing it sadly.

Still, despite Demi not being there to share her side of the drama, the episode will no doubt cover some of the issues that arose throughout Season 2, namely the rumor that Demi was willing to have her best friend Jessi cut from the show if it meant that she herself was paid more.

While Jessi claimed that she and Demi had put the situation behind them, it seems that the other women still have an issue with Demi acting like she deserves more than the other group members, and the season ended with a cliffhanger of Taylor saying she should be ousted from the group entirely.

The special reunion episode will air on Hulu on Tuesday, July 1st.
