Following the sad news of Ewen MacIntosh’s death, his close friend Lizzie Cundy has shared her fond memories of the actor. His death at the age of 50 was confirmed on Wednesday.

Now, Lizzie, 55, has recalled working with her friend Ewen after they were cast together in a music video for Chris Rea’s festive song Driving Home for Christmas.

She told MailOnline: “We were already friends, we met on the showbiz circuit and got on really well. My son wanted to be an actor and Ewen was so kind, telling me which drama schools to go to. He was just so lovely.”

The socialite recalled the fun moments they shared together on set, as she said: “We just laughed and laughed the whole way through the day.

“We thought how can we believe that me and him are here in the actual pop video for Chris Rea, with so many big name stars? And there was me and Ewen.

“There was fake snow that kept getting stuck in his beard and in his hair and I kept saying he had dandruff. Every time I danced and smiled it would go in my mouth and we would be laughing.

“He was an absolutely beautiful person inside and out, totally humble and was totally the opposite of what he could be. He spoke so well of everyone and loved Ricky Gervais. He was an adorable, fun person. So many laughs,” she told the publication.

Lizzie also revealed they pranked Lionel Blair, who died in November 2021, on the set of the video.

“I pretended I was a very famous actress from America and Ewen backed me up. Lionel totally believed it and then asked for my autograph, but Ewen was a great practical joker with a deadpan face, a great poker face and great fun.”

The BBC star’s death was confirmed by his friend Ed Scott, who shared the tragic news on X, formerly known as Twitter. He penned: “I am completely devastated by the loss of my very good friend Ewen MacIntosh.

“He may have had a famous face known by millions as Keith from The Office but the person inside is what I will most remember.

“Ewen was so full of empathy, kindness, and integrity and above all a really good man. Sending love to his parents Sara and Ewen Sr, his brother Colin and his family, as well as his many friends and fans.

“Thanks to the incredible care and love provided by the wonderful medical staff and especially the nurses who all loved him when he brought a smile to their days.”
