Exclusive: Deal Or No Deal Island's Dickson Wong Comes Clean About Whether He Was A Weasel

Thanks to the fact that Deal or No Deal Island is a great reality show, it has become one of Peacock’s best shows. In fact, thanks to the Dr. Will effect, DONDI fans have learned how great of a host Joe Manganiello is, they’ve watched the epic “golden gods” feud, and they’ve seen hilarious scenes. If all that wasn’t enough, DONDI allowed fans to watch Dr. Will and Parvati Shallow become rivals and the Big Brother icon got to label Dickson Wong as a “weasel.”

Even though Deal or No Deal Island is a must-see show with incredible deleted scenes, some things about the show are debatable. One example of that is the fact that fans could debate whether Dickson really was a “weasel.” With that in mind, it is fascinating to look at what Dickson exclusively told TheThings about whether he is a “weasel” or not.

Deal Or No Deal Island’s Dickson Wong Owns That He Was A Weasel In The Game

During Deal or No Deal Island Season 2, Dickson Wong wound up at the center of the game a lot. For example, Dickson was at the core of “The Family” alliance alongside Parvati Shallow and David Genat. On the other hand, some of the attention that Dickson got was a lot less positive.

Both while playing the game and during their exit interviews, several of Dickson’s castmates have called him out for the way he played the game. Unfortunately for Dickson, several of his fellow Deal or No Deal Island guests have said that he was a “weasel.”

Throughout reality show history, many players who’ve been called out have vehemently denied being duplicitous. However, while speaking exclusively to TheThings, Dickson Wong completely owned that he was playing a weaselly game.

In March 2025, TheThings journalist Matthew Thomas exclusively interviewed Dickson Wong about his Deal or No Deal Island experience.

During that interview, Dickson was talking about his relationships with other players. Then, without even being asked about the complaints that his castmates made, Dickson completely admitted that Dr. Will Kirby was right to call him out.

One thing that Dr. Will was not wrong about, [is that] I was playing a very weasely game.

One thing that most of the best reality show stars have in common is a willingness to own how they play. With that in mind, it was impressive that Dickson was completely forthright about how he played during Deal or No Deal Island.

While speaking exclusively to TheThings, Dickson explained what he was doing that inspired his castmates to call him a “weasel.”

After admitting that he was being a “weasel,” Dickson Wong exclusively told TheThings that he believed that is why his allies recruited other players. “In David and Parvati’s eyes, it’s like, ‘This kid’s making himself a target where if he is one of the only people up, they’re gonna send him home.’ So I think they were doing MG as a backup option in the scenario where if I did go home, they could continue ‘The family,’ but adopt MG in it.”

To Dickson’s credit, he was completely willing to admit that he made many promises in the game knowing that he couldn’t keep them.

I was going around making a lot of deals, promises, that I couldn’t keep, unfortunately.

On the show, the first person that fans saw call Dickson a “weasel” was Dr. Will Kirby. A clip on YouTube shows what Dr. Will said when Dickson asked him about the “weasel” nickname. “You’re lying to everybody… You’re wildly untrustworthy. It’s just the truth. Can you look at me in a straight face and tell me that you’re trustworthy?” After Dickson claimed he was trustworthy in response to that question, Dr. Will hilariously made it clear he didn’t believe that. When Dickson asked who he wanted to eliminate, Dr. Will had a hilarious response. “I’m gonna get rid of Nonya… Nonya damn business because you’re not trustworthy.”

While talking to TheThings in March 2025, Dickson Wong was asked if he was surprised that players were still talking about him being a “weasel” in their post-game interviews. In response, Dickson stated he wasn’t surprised and felt that was an indication that he made good moves in the game.

When he was asked by TheThings if he panicked internally when Dr. Will labeled him a “weasel,” Dickson stated that he took that moment in stride. After revealing a moment what happened before Dr. Will called him out in front of everyone, Dickson explained he didn’t panic because he already knew people saw him as a “weasel.”

‘No. I wasn’t really panicking because, Storm came to me and he’s like, ‘Oh, so have you been talking to anyone?’ I’m like, ‘Nope. Just you, man.’ He’s like, ‘Oh, what’s this thing about Lete?’ I’m like, ‘Oh, yeah. You know, I’ve been talking to Lete a little bit.'” So I thought Storm was onto my game, with that. I mean, he wasn’t wrong about calling me a weasel.”

While Dickson was very open about being duplicitous, that doesn’t mean that he felt that he did anything wrong.

While defending how he played the game, Dickson expressed why he thought it was a good strategic idea to form as many bonds as possible.

“The one thing I will say is, you know, with games like this, you wanna try to make as many friends as possible and that’s what I was trying to do.”

After explaining his mentality in the game, Dickson went on to reflect on how he played Deal or No Deal Island. While speaking exclusively to TheThings, Dickson revealed that he was self-critical when he played the game.

“I was playing very hard. I will say that. I said in a confessional, I’m playing this game really, really hard right now. I need to cool down… If I can just make it one day where I don’t talk strategy, and just go on cool mode, I think I can make a run-in this game.”

Thankfully, Dickson seemed to take pride in how he played, even though some of his castmates and many viewers were critical. In fact, Dickson pointed out that his most notable strategic move, blindsiding Storm, would be praised by fans of other reality shows. “I got a lot of hate for the Storm move, which I was really surprised about. Because if you made this move on Survivor or Big Brother, people would love you. Like, people are like, ‘That was such an amazing move.’ You know? That was such a great move on your part. Great job getting out, you know, the alpha male in the game or one of the alpha males.”

Deal Or No Deal Island’s Dickson Wong Called Out All The “Integrity” Talk From From His Castmates

While interviewing Deal or No Deal Island’s Dickson Wong, TheThings journalist Matthew Thomas expressed how surprised he was by one aspect of the game. During DONDI’s second season, many of the players talked about wanting to play the game with “integrity.” When TheThings’ journalist expressed how surprising he believed that was, Dickson expressed his opinion about the DONDI players who repeatedly spoke about playing with integrity.

In an extremely blunt moment while talking to TheThings, Dickson stated that he thought all the integrity talk was ridiculous.

“I thought the whole integrity thing was the biggest bunch of crap I’ve ever seen. We’re on a game show competing for millions of dollars, people. It’s like, I’m not gonna play honest with you… This is a game where we’re competing for millions of dollars. So if I gotta tell a few lies here and there, I was more than willing to.”

However, while talking exclusively to TheThings, Dickson explained that he is very trustworthy in his regular life.

“I think people in my real life, they know that I’m not that way. They know I’m not playing every single angle that I can to get myself further in life… Everyone who knows me personally knows I’m not that kind of person.”

Dickson also revealed that he and Dr. Will are now friends now that the game is over. If that doesn’t prove that what happens in the game doesn’t necessarily reflect on who the players are in real life, nothing does.
