For a long time, Deal or No Deal fans wanted to know things like how much money Howie Mandel lost after leaving the show and if he was angry after his exit. However, after the reality show Deal or No Deal Island was announced, fans became less interested in if the original show screwed fans out of money. Instead, Deal or No Deal Island became known as one of Peacock’s best series. The show became even more popular once the news that Big Brother‘s most iconic player ever was joining the second season.

Alongside reality show icons like Dr. Will Kirby, Parvati Shallow, and David Genat, Deal or No Deal Island’s second season also stars Seychelle Cordero. An incredibly dynamic and outspoken person, Seychelle exclusively told TheThings truly epic stories about Luke Olejniczak’s elimination from Deal or No Deal Island.

Deal Or No Deal Island’s Seychelle Cordero Revealed Her Stunning Stories About Luke Olejniczak’s Elimination

After only a few episodes of Deal or No Deal Island’s second season aired, TheThings journalist Matthew Thomas interviewed Seychelle Cordero. During the resulting January 2025 conversation, Seychelle proved that she doesn’t just have an incredibly compelling personality on TV.

For example, when Seychelle was asked if she was afraid of being the first person to play against the banker, her response was amazing. After admitting she was freaked out by the prospect of playing with the briefcases so early, Seychelle revealed she was worried about losing her chance to play a perfect game. “H*** yea. I don’t wanna play Deal or no Deal until I’m the last one standing at the end. I want to pull a Jordan.”

During the first episode of Deal or No Deal Island season two, Luke Olejniczak memorably was eliminated after making a terrible deal for just one dollar. When asked about her reaction to that stunning failure from Luke, Seychelle revealed stunning information about the season’s first elimination.

At the end of each season of Deal or No Deal Island, the winner takes home all the money from the deals that the players make with the banker. As a result, it would have made sense if Seychelle was angry that Luke only banked one dollar before his elimination.

Instead of reacting to Luke getting eliminated after winning one dollar with frustration, Seychelle exclusively told TheThings about how overjoyed she was he flopped so hard. Furthermore, Seychelle explained she was happy about Luke’s exit because she blamed him for putting her team in peril. It is important to note that because Luke chose poorly and was on a team with Seychelle and David Genat, they were all put in danger of elimination.

It felt fabulous. It felt fabulous because he was a main contributor as to why our team bombed.

Seychelle revealing how happy she was about Luke’s exit was interesting enough. However, Seychelle went on to reveal much more epic information about Luke’s elimination.

If Luke made a good deal with the banker, he would have had the power to decide who to eliminate from the game. During the first episode of Deal or No Deal Island, viewers weren’t given any information about who Luke would have eliminated if he prevailed.

During her exclusive TheThings interview, Seychelle Cordero revealed details of her amazing life that Deal or No Deal Island fans need to know. “I’m a true New York girly in every way you could possibly imagine. I love bulls******* with my friends, I’m addicted to my phone and social media. I love labels and martinis. I became a flight attendant about two years ago on a total whim. Literally woke up one day like, ‘Maybe I should do this.’ I did it, and it’s the best job I’ve ever had. That’s just how I am. If I wanna do something, I’ll just do it. I love that about myself.”

While talking about Luke’s exit, Seychelle revealed details that weren’t even hinted at on the show. Clearly aware of how compelling what she was exclusively telling TheThings was, Seychelle made it clear that she had fantastic facts to share.

Amazingly enough, Seychelle revealed that Luke told her that he was planning to eliminate her if he beat the banker. Considering how entertaining it would have been to see Luke say that to Seychelle, it seems amazing that footage was included in the episode.

In January 2025, Luke Olejniczak was interviewed by Collider after his Deal of No Deal Island exit. During that interview, Luke made it clear that he didn’t regret being the first one to go up against the banker for a specific reason. “I went in wanting to have control of my game, and that is where I felt I was going to have control.”

As incredible as it would have been to see Luke say that, Seychelle revealed that what happened next was even more epic. While talking exclusively to TheThings, Seychelle stated that she told Luke he was going to flop when he went up against the banker long before that happened.

“What didn’t air was Luke telling me he would send me home if he made a good deal with the banker. When he did I responded, ‘Well, you’re gonna eat it at temple tonight.’ And good Lord did he. I wasn’t worried about the pot eventually being built. I enjoyed him playing such a terrible game. But that’s just what it is right, a game.”

Even though Luke exited the game so quickly, Seychelle also told TheThings about other problems she had with him during his short tenure.

What Seychelle went next told TheThings shows how important perception is during a game like Deal or No Deal Island.

While watching Deal or No Deal Island at home, it is impossible to know hard filming the show is. When Seychelle Cordero was asked by TheThings about what part of Deal or No Deal Island was shocking, she revealed how challenging the process could be. “What shocked me most is how long everything takes to film. I can’t even begin to count how many hours I had to stand in the middle of the jungle just waiting for something to happen. I started to get a heat rash throughout my body, and I’m obsessed with bug spray, so I wreaked of SPF and bug spray. The fire ants pissed me off. I get it, it’s their home, but I can’t lie, I stomped a couple out. I don’t like bugs.”

Seychelle explained that, from her perspective, it seemed like Luke was being deceptive despite proclaiming that he was going to play with integrity.

“More behind the scenes tea is that Luke stated he wanted to play the game with honesty and integrity. What I find funny money about that is that he promised me along with our tent alliance that he would get rid of David if he beat the banker. Not even eight hours later I see him shaking hands with David on the beach. Now I don’t know much about what that handshake could’ve been about, if could’ve gave [sic] miss top and miss bottom, however I think it is related to the game, which really pissed me off. You made a deal with me and three other souls and you shaking hands on the beach with our #1 oppiana [sic]?!”

Given that Luke told her he was going to eliminate her if he won, it seems like Seychelle should have been deeply afraid when he played against the banker.

During Deal or No Deal Island’s second season, Seychelle Cordero was repeatedly shown throwing out incredible one-liners about the game and her castmates. While talking to TheThings, Seychelle revealed how proud she is of her one-liners on the show. “I am beyond proud of all of my wonderful one-liners that appeared on the show so far. I’m salty that there’s simply no Seychelle reel of me just talking yet. I’m the most hilarious person on that island. I wanna see more of me.”

However, Seychelle exclusively told TheThings that she was at peace because she left her and Luke’s fate in someone else’s hands.

“I went into temple honestly releasing it to God. I’m too fabulous to have been sent home first or second, so watching Luke make his deals with the banker kept me grounded. I remember David looking over at me and asking why I was so calm. I felt like telling him “Cause your boy going home.” But I love saying and doing less. God was on my side, and how wonderful is that.”

How Did Deal Or No Deal Island’s Seychelle Cordero Feel About Playing With Reality Show Icons?

Before Deal or No Deal Island’s second season premiere, many reality show junkies couldn’t wait to see Dr. Will Kirby, Parvati Shallow, and David Genat play. Given those three are icons, it is easy to imagine how even someone who seems confident could be intimidated by playing with them. However, based on what Seychelle Cordero exclusively told TheThings, she wasn’t intimidated by the trio.

When she was interviewed by TheThings, Seychelle revealed that she only recognized one of the three reality TV legends. Seychelle also explained that she instantly wanted the icon that she recognized out of the game.

“I recognized Parvati ASAP. I binge-watched Survivor during the pandemic and I loved watching her. She’s the only one I recognized and the second I did, I wanted her on the first flight out of the island.”

During Seychelle’s TheThings interview, she revealed that unlike Parvati, she quickly grew to really like Dr. Will Kirby.

“Although Will came in strong, he told me he was a dermatologist and I was excited. Now there’s two skincare girlies on the island. He was cool in my book.”

Finally, Seychelle revealed to TheThings that she recognized that playing with reality show icons could help her in the game strategically. “I figured they’d be a phenomenal shield. We got three major threats here. Why the hell would anyone be looking to get me out? That was really my mindset being on the island with them.”
