Pamela Anderson is the toast of Hollywood right now and basking in the glory of her triumphant return in The Last Showgirl — which means she’s also being inundated with offers from fashion houses, movie execs and other power players who are eager to see just how high she can fly with her mid-life career revival.

A source exclusively tells In Touch that even though “Demi Moore‘s massive comeback this year is a big story, the re-invention of Pamela Anderson as a full blown movie star and middle-aged fashion icon is an even more dramatic turn of events.” 

The Baywatch star, 57, gave what The Guardian’s Wendy Ide declared “the performance of a lifetime” in the Gia Coppola-directed project. “Anderson, whose character is left questioning not just what the future holds, but also the costly choices that shaped her past, is excellent, delivering a performance that has single-handedly rewritten the way she is viewed as an actor,” the reviewer added.

It’s not just critics raving about the Barb Wire star, either. The source notes that top execs are now desperate to attach Pamela to their projects, which is ideal for the resurgent actress as she sets her sights on nothing less than peak stardom and Hollywood domination.

“The Last Showgirl, the whole experience of that movie, and how well it has been received has changed everything for Pamela,” the insider explains, “and the good news is that she 100 percent wants to keep acting at that level and she wants to keep making interesting movies.”

“She’s already looking at scripts and talking to filmmakers, although it’s also a priority for Pamela to work again with Gia Coppola, who directed The Last Showgirl, and had the incredible idea of putting Pamela in that movie in the first place.” 

As Gia, 38, plans out her next move, Pamela has already found her another big project: she’ll be joining Ellen Burstyn and Taika Waititi in Kornél Mundruczó’s upcoming drama, Place to Be. 

“I really love Pamela — she’s such a versatile actress, and her most recent performance in The Last Showgirl was unbelievable,” Kornél told Deadline. “She showed such bravery, and I’m tremendously excited to work with her.” She also has roles in the pipeline for the The Naked Gun reboot opposite Liam Neeson, which will test out her comedic chops, and Karim Aïnouz’s Rosebush Pruning, alongside Riley Keough, Callum Turner and Elle Fanning, which the Canadian beauty called, “another art house film festival movie.”

The insider adds that her Golden Globe-nominated performance in The Last Showgirl “isn’t a happy ending, it’s a new beginning.” 

“The other side effect of all of this is that after more than thirty years in the business, Pamela is finally getting taken seriously by fashion houses and by fashion magazine editors after they ignored her for her entire career.” 

“This alone has been totally overwhelming to her and her team, but it has to be gratifying to her son Brandon Thomas Lee, who a couple of years ago was the only person in Hollywood who believed Pamela had another major act left in her career.”
