NBC has announced its newest reality competition show — and it asks players to answer one important question: Where the X are you?
In Touch rounds up everything to know about Destination X’s premise, cast, host and more ahead of the season 1 premiere.
What Is ‘Destination X’ About?
Europe becomes a “real-life game board” for a group of 12 strangers who embark on an overseas trip of a lifetime in Destination X.
“These adventurous players will traverse each country on a blacked-out Destination X bus with the goal of figuring out where the ‘X’ they are each week,” the press release for the upcoming reality series reads. “In each episode, the players disembark the bus to visit unique and unfamiliar tourist attractions that have been gamified into experiential challenges. They will need to rely on their knowledge of pop culture, history, geography and observational skills to win clues to their current location and earn an all-important advantage.”
Over the course of the season, the players “eat, sleep and travel together” and face “constantly shifting alliances and unexpected adversaries” as they not only attempt to figure out where they are … but who they can truly trust.

The first official trailer for Destination X reveals contestants marveling over the new and unique locations and potentially forming alliances as they struggle to solve puzzles.
“You have no idea where in the world you really are. No map, no plan, no clue,” Jeffrey says. “In this game, information is everything. Win challenges and I’ll give you clues. You can team up or fly solo. To win a quarter of a million dollars … answer one simple question. Where the X am I?”
From finding their way through a giant hedge maze to attempting to interpret the meaning behind a painting that could hold the answer to where they are, this clearly isn’t going to be a walk in the park for the players.
