Rachel Zoe is stepping back into the limelight of reality television with her return to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The fashion icon is rejoining the cast as she navigates a fresh and exciting phase of her life as a single woman.
Rachel’s comeback to the show was marked by a jaw-dropping revelation that left viewers stunned. In a striking moment, she disclosed that her children had been aware of her husband’s infidelity while it was occurring.
The premiere episode of the new season set the stage for drama as Rachel opened up about the family turmoil. She shared the surprising and difficult truth that not only was she cognizant of her former husband Rodger’s affair, but their teenage sons were also in the loop during the ordeal.
Rachel Dished During The Season Premiere
In the first episode of the latest season, Rachel divulged some shocking news—on top of knowing about her ex Rodger’s affair, she revealed that their two teenage sons were also aware of it.
Rachel shared with the cameras that it had been a sticky situation:
Rodger has been with the same girl for a year. The kids have known for probably ten months.
Those who have been following Rachel’s life for some time now will know that she and Rodger had been together for over two decades, with their divorce marking the end of a very long relationship.
Rodger’s Relationship With The Kids Is Strained
Perhaps unsurprisingly, knowing about their dad’s affair has made the kids more distant from Rodger. In the same episode, Rachel revealed that knowing about Rodger’s mistress had made things a little tense with the children:
Their relationship with their dad is tricky now. I think they wonder why he sometimes acts the way he does and why there’s time spent with his girlfriend versus his kids.
Rodger’s new girlfriend is a young woman named Bree Jacoby. While he claims that he and Bree got together a few months after his split from Rachel, it’s become increasingly clear that there was overlap with the marriage.
When producers prompted Rachel about the exact timeline of Bree and Rodger’s relationship, she simply quipped, “I’ll let you do the math.”
It’s clear, however, that Rachel isn’t going to let Rodger’s mess dim her light. She previously explained that part of her reason for returning to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was to serve as a role model for other women who were also struggling with the single life.
“I’m very honest about where I am and what I am dealing with. I think my goal is really to share the reality of my life. And everyone’s going through stuff, right? I’m trying to help as many women as possible,” she noted. She added that about a third of the women she knew were also going through a separation, and that she hoped to be a source of support for them.
